andrewchris22 While some in here may not like Sam, personally I think his cinematography skills, aesthetics and production value are quite probably the best in the tech-YouTuber space and his personal phone / home screen set-ups are among the most minimalistic out there; something that I’m a huge fan of. You just need to look at one of his ‘best home screen set-ups’ videos to see that he is the all about minimalism.
I have 8 icons and a single widget on my set-up, and now I think about it… my home screen wallpaper is actually from one of Sam’s apps; Lumia Walls (which has a Nothing inspired section btw)
The two points he raises that I happen to agree with are that with the introduction of Private Space we lost the ability to ‘hide’ apps, which something I used all of the time as I often would use different icon packs, or widgets, or tools such as Buzzkill etc. which need to run in the background. It was nice to set them up and hide them, but now we have to have them in the app drawer. It was great to be able to hide stuff that we didn’t need every day, but still have them function in the background.
The other one I agree with, and should be such a simple thing to tweak is the Essential Search, yes it’s great to be able to do all of the AI shennanigans (if you live in a supported territory) but not everyone wants AI in everything. Some people just want it to filter their installed apps (like it used to). They should be able to pick that if that’s what they want. Not everyone needs or wants AI crammed into everything.
