Hello Team,
I am facing an issue on my Nothing Phone 2a running Nothing OS 3.2 (Android 15, September 1 security patch).
Whenever I am listening to music on Spotify Premium, and I open YouTube or Instagram (even if I am only scrolling and not playing any video), the audio from Spotify stops for 1–2 seconds and then resumes automatically.
This issue was not present earlier on older builds.
It only started after updating to Nothing OS 3.2 / Android 15.
It seems related to the way audio focus is being handled by the system. YouTube and Instagram briefly grab audio focus in the background, which interrupts Spotify playback unnecessarily.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start playing music on Spotify.
2. Open Instagram or YouTube (without playing any video).
3. Notice that Spotify pauses for 1–2 seconds and then resumes.
Expected behavior:
Spotify playback should continue smoothly when opening these apps, unless actual audio/video is played in YouTube/Instagram.
Current behavior:
Spotify pauses/resumes every time YouTube or Instagram is opened, even without media playback.
This is very distracting during music playback. Kindly check if this is due to Nothing OS’s audio focus implementation on Android 15, and please provide a fix or adjustment in a future update.
Thanks.
