So after 30 days, which was the legal deadline, Nothing finally got back to me — they’re refunding me.
After all the talk about “temporary image retention”, “ghosting” and apparently completely normal OLED behaviour, it turns out they’re actually giving me my money back. 😄
The funniest part? My first two warranty claims were rejected. Both times I was basically told that it was just temporary image retention / “ghosting” and that there was nothing wrong with the display.
And then, after the third claim and 30 days of waiting:
“We’re refunding you.” 🤡
So if you’re experiencing something similar with Nothing, don’t let them brush you off after the first or even the second rejected claim. Keep pushing and keep filing the claim. Because apparently, according to my experience, a “temporary ghost” that was twice used as a reason to reject my claim can eventually turn into a reason to give you your money back. 😂
After this experience, I’ve sent my Nothing phone into retirement and switched to a Google Pixel. Hopefully this time I won’t have to prove that what I can clearly see on the display is actually there. 😏
Nothing — 1st claim: “Temporary image retention.”
2nd claim: “Still temporary.”
3rd claim: “Here’s your money.”
