The offer is tempting, but no way I’m letting go of Phone (1). It’s the first ever from Nothing, and I’ve invested too much time and interest in it. Been using it since 2022 and it’s way too special—like a little museum piece I wanna keep forever. Even though I have Phone (2), both are just too pretty to replace. Phone (3), I’ll get you sooner or later 😌✨

Pyrodox maybe I’m being daft, but I don’t find anywhere that says you have to return the phone. (Having said that I haven’t entered an IMEI in, perhaps you could do that and check.) It doesn’t say “Exchange,” it says “Upgrade,” which to me in American English doesn’t mean return the hardware.

CMF1_hacker These upgrade promotions usually require you to turn in the old device, Samsung is doing these all the time and some German retailers as well as mobile providers are also doing these. The old devices will ve refurbished and sold again on the 2nd hand reseller market or simply be recycled.

It might not say “exchange”, but that’s what “upgrade” in this regard refers to.

However I can’t find anything on the German nothing.tech website, even switching to the UK store and English language doesn’t display any kind of such an offer, not even under the “Offers” tab.

Coldpaw I agree with you 100%. However, after reading the fine print, I didn’t find anything or even an address to ship to.

Thus, maybe it’s more of a loyalty reward scheme than an exchange.

CMF1_hacker Interesting indeed, it should at the very least mentioned in the fine print. Out of curiosity: Where do you see that upgrade offer exactly? I open up nothing.tech but it’s not displayed anywhere, not under offers, not when I open the NP3 product page, not inside the shopping card and not during checkout.

I guess NOTHING could easily estimate the number of Phone (1) and Phone (2) devices still receiving updates OTA and estimate that hardly anyone will see this offer (unless it’s sent directly to phones as it will only travel by word of mouth and if someone interacts with NOTHING’s webpage) and determine that it’s too expense to have a return policy/receive stuff and just offer a blanket £300 discount per IMEI1.

This is wonderful to see, and as an owner of both Phone (1) and Phone (2) I shall have to check to see what happens if I input both IMEI Numbers…more of a discount? 👀

bishdoesnothing - This warms my heart, I don’t think I could ever part with Phone (1), it shall always have a place in my heart and on my office shelf. Glad this programme won’t involve losing this historic device.

I thought it was a loyalty program or somthing but if it’s concerning the Essential button then Phone 2a series doesn’t have essential button too right? Shouldn’t 2a series users also get a little incentive to buy Phone(3)?
