After analyzing the Nothing OS 4.0 intro video, I think the Nothing team is intentionally showing us fewer features in the teaser. I believe they have many more features coming with the Nothing OS 4.0, 4.2, or 4.5 updates. It feels like they’re using a similar strategy to what they did with the Nothing Phone (3), where they said on “The Android Show” that the phone would cost a certain price but eventually decreased it.
It’s a brilliant strategy: they set a minimum baseline so users will initially criticize the update, but then they gradually add more features, which calms users down. If they had shown all the upcoming features and UI changes in the initial video, users might have demanded even more.
I also think they want to avoid a situation like with the Nothing Gallery or Weather app, where they showcased a new app layout but didn’t roll it out until several months later, and even then, it wasn’t fully polished. I see what you’re doing, Nothing.
