I have to say, I really don’t understand the craze and complaints surrounding the Nothing OS (NOS) 4.0 beta updates.
A beta update, by definition, is unstable and buggy. For the average user, installing it often guarantees issues: the apps you rely on may simply stop working, and more importantly, Play Protect certification often fails. When that certification breaks, essential payment applications like Google Pay won’t work correctly.
These builds are primarily meant for app developers to test compatibility and submit crucial feedback. Yet, the general user base rushes to install them, finds a deal-breaking bug (like a non-functional payment app), and then immediately rolls back to the stable version. This just creates unnecessary spam and noise in the community threads.
Regarding the timeline: Nothing stated the NOS 4.0 beta for the 3a series will be out by October. The month isn’t over. Updates, even stable ones, reliably drop toward the end of the month… typically the last week. Complaining and demanding the update before the announced period is over just reflects poorly on the community. Please, let’s just wait patiently for the official release.
