I am very disappointed of the nothing update 4.0 ..google released Android 16 with a lot of features and we got NOTHING..while other brands making their devices more special with lock screen customization and other items…

AkhilAkhil_dze21zIfcN I like that NOTHING didn’t waste time with the metal or transparency garbage. I had enough of that tat with MIUI. Keep it clean and minimal.

edit: what non-visual features are missing on NOSB4 versus A16? I can’t seem to find any.

CMF1_hacker Keeping it clean and minimal is good, but upto what extent ? That doesn’t mean, more features should not be added ! We still dont even have the proper hotspot manager . Minimal ?No option to change even the color of the lockscreen clock widget,because of that we cannot have particular types of wallpapers. Minimal ?

Err_404NotFound do some phones offer a CLI by default. I must admit that would be nice. And do you mean graphical output from the USB-C? Are those offered on other phones. @Anonymous931 was discuss that USB 2.X versus USB 3.X might prevent this? Are there good third-party apps for a terminal/CLI? I must admit that I run Ubuntu on my workstations but don’t mess with my phone much and haven’t even used adb with either phone NP3/CMF1 yet.

Err_404NotFound To be honest, I’ve been kind of looking forward to the terminal Android 16 had. I’m not sure how many vendors support it though, I know that it’s a thing on Pixels and some Samsung devices running 16.

Would’ve been great to have it here too IMHO.

CMF1_hacker I believe there is a Linux Distro Emulator on the Play Store called NOMone Desktop.

I gather that in order for NTL to add the desktop mode feature, their devices need to have USB C Type 3.0, which they do not. 👎

Err_404NotFound I guess there’s no ScreenCast feature? Perhaps that was with MIUI?

We don’t have a TV as a family, which I must admit is somewhat odd these days (we use a 2008 iMac 24″ if we want to watch something as a family and move it around the house), so I haven’t really looked at the ScreenCast feature but I would assume it would do something similar on MIUI?

Correct, USB 3.0 or better is needed, 5 Gbps bandwidth minimum (USB 2.0 has 480 Mbps, so more than 10 times less).

You can add widgets to the lock screen, give it an always on display, add buttons like camera, qr code scanner, video camera. I have Glyph Timer on my lock screen personally. What about that is basic?

Some of these Features are very much important and should the basic thing on a device.
