Nothing phone 1 will not get any updates anymore?

I’ve been hearing that the Nothing Phone 1 has reached the end of its update cycle and might not get any more major OS updates beyond Android 15. Some sources say it will still receive security patches and minor fixes, but no Android 16 or Nothing OS 4.0.

Is this confirmed?

Are other Nothing Phone 1 users also getting the same info?

Do you think the company should have supported it for longer, or is 3 years of major updates fair enough?

Would love to know your thoughts and experiences.

tejavardhanlanke The original software support for the Phone (1) stated 3 major - or 3 years - Android (OS) updates, starting from Android 12 (release version), and 4 years of security updates. This means no Android 16/NOS4.

The security updates should continue until July 2026 as the device was released in July 2022.

maroof31 It won’t get the September security update because Nothing uses bi-monthly security cycles for all their phones. NP1 is on an even month cycle, so it will get the October security update, which should be rolled out next week. The update following that one will be December.
