Gcam looks more realistic and pleasant while stock is too bright

I think the stock one is more pleasing to the eye, though less realistic maybe. Personally I would choodmse the Nothing Camera.

it really depends what settings are selected in each camera app (HDR/UXDR and the EV correction employed by each app). I’ve found that the settings on the NP3 make a huge difference to overall outcome.

DJ Unfortunately GCam isn’t the solution to the camera issues on our NOTHING phones. The real fix would be better software development from the NOTHING developers… but at this point I’ve lost hope that it will ever happen.

The stock camera results aren’t that bad, even though they could be much better. In optimal lighting conditions I can still take some really nice photos with my N Phone 2.

PinoLY Fair point. GCam won’t fix what better optimisation from NOTHING should.

The Nothing Phone (2) is good in good lighting just needs better tuning.

PinoLY They simply don’t care about the cameras - it works for most people I guess taking “artsy” photos

The 3a suffers so many issues with the stock camera - poor focus, HDR crush, and shutter lag from the slow processing (I’ve measured this to be around 0.2 to 0.3 seconds). The shutter lag ruins a lot of photos as faces/body gestures shift after processing or become blurry

GCam as you say isn’t a solution - usually features are broken or can crash a lot.

BTW you probably didn’t use the right version - again another issue using a hacky GCam that most versions either don’t work or the quality tanks. If you can find a good one it is much better than stock

YoshiMK GCam, like custom ROMs, is an alternative solution — they are not solid, definitive, or stable; there’s always something that doesn’t work. Only the manufacturer can provide stable software suited to the hardware of its phones, and in this regard, Nothing is very lacking.
