LockGlimpseUnEnjoyer your information is about a month out of date.
The current 4.0 releases do not exhibit this problem.
In fact, the problem was so severe and likely against UK law, where one has to be able to opt out and the “opting out” has to be respected, that NOTHING stopped all 4.0 roll outs. They were then restarted with modified version where the disabled LockScreenGlimpse and AppServices can be disabled and do not communicate or drain battery.
Thus, no current NOS 4.0 versions experience the behaviour described in that Reddit post. If you disagree, I challenge you to show me a new 4.0 ROM that exhibits those behaviours.
There was a small window pre-CMF release, where that behaviour did occur.
I don’t have either phone, but I would speculate the window lasted about 3 weeks and was corrected with the DEC update.
Talking about it now, demonstrates that you’re not up-to-speed and are simply rabble-rousing, as your handle suggests you will.
I applaud NOTHING for stopping the rollout as soon as they learned about it. (Partially, due to potential legal consequences and it seems some members here with file a complaint with the ICO.)
I cannot as I only had a NP3 and a CMF1, which don’t exhibit those issues.
Anyone with current 4.0 should be following the list of steps I described above.
