My experience this far (~3h in):
- “Settings Suggestions” keeps crashing, e.g. I can’t search in settings
- Gboard keyboard was resized after the update and squished down so the language selector was on top of the enter key and I had to adjust the keyboard position and height manually. It didn’t let me push the keyboard down beneath the language selector while doing that so everything as expected now 🙂
- Personally, I prefer the old gallery app and also camera app icon over the new icons. In my opinion, the new icons are too minimalist and striped down. I would like to see the old icons of these 2 apps return for the official release .
Beside that, I can’t complain much, instead I like the update very much and especially essential notifications and essential search are very neat and useful additions.
What I would like to see though for the official release is the ability to move apps from folders/categories in the smart app drawer (and preferably also have the AI learn from that move)
Edit (after 2 days):
- App drawer inconsistently opens the keyboard despite the setting being enabled
- Essential Search also isn’t as fast anymore when suggesting stuff like apps (only comparable aspect to Nothing OS 3.2), for example I type “cl” and it shows Clock app, then I continue typing “ as” and it needs (half) a second to show Clash Royale. Of course it can do much more now and I really like that but there is some optimization needed here
- The Settings Suggestions often times crashes even when not in settings
