After the latest update the device interface got ugly. Like the volume controller, brightness controller got a big and ugly form. And also the data and Bluetooth icon at the notification bar got changed to ugly big square shaped. Why u guys making these kind of ugly upgradation. Previous was the iconic nothing interface and design. Now you guys spoiled it . Please bring back the original form. And some new features are great. Like new gesture for screenshots and double tap on home screen to go lockscreen such features are nice and really useful. Only one thing I want to say as a nothing user please bring back previous look to the UI. It’s an request.
📱 Phone (2) - Nothing OS 2.5.1a Changelog
I mean, that’s a good thing, no ? Having a persistent notification for a notification that isn’t useful is quite awful n terms of usability.
Or else I didn’t understand the bug.
Yes, also have tap to pay issue since the last update. Anyone else confirm that Google pay works for them running latest update?
My NFC chip seems fine as I can use it when pairing to my Sony NFC Bluetooth speaker. Just Gpay that is broken.
superhans You just need to open google wallet after the update it will ask you if its default paying app and your done after it, it will work same as before.
Hello there
I just received my NP2 with v2.0 firmware, so brand new and empty.
The upgrade to 2.5.1a went smoothly but I am now experiencing random little freeze and interface unresponsiveness.
For like a couple of seconds, then it unfreeze and get back to snappy interface.
I am a bit concerned about giving it a chance to settle or sending it back while it’s still minty… will see.
Am I the only one to get small freezes like that with v2.5.1a or is it just me doing gestures wrong or something?
Thanks, but I have only one card in my wallet. When app opened no prompts to confirm anything and my single card shows as default payment method.
Very annoying as I use Google pay a lot most days. Anyone else seeing this?

GordonLutz I agree although there seemed like there was some perceived latency between the lights triggering and the actual frequency range of it being triggered likely because of the fade effect now it just seems like some garbage lightshow that isn’t based off the actual track. 2.5.1 was better
AmirHussaini How to factory reset back to 2.0.4?
GordonLutz yeah Glyphs were great before the hotfix.
Dear nothing iam a nothing phone 1 user . I am on open beta 14(2.5.1). And I am trying to rollback on 2.0.5 or other version but I can’t make it it’s show error code 2 or different versions (from .ro build) so… indeed you help on this topic plzzz don’t ignore this I am facing some issues regularly day by day
was it really necessary an update just for these two things? I would’ve appreciated a security update… we’re stuck in the november patch.
I have a few tips, what can be done
Aod add a option to see only when you touch screen or move phone (like now lock screen)
Notifications from protected apps, when I unblock screen, they are hidden, too. Need to open app and enter a pin. I just see all information (notification’s text) when I unblock screen
Separate icon wifi and network data
Glyps should have an option to light to the rhythm music (not only ringtones)
Problem with editing photo, while editing you block screen, after unblock and back to editing, there aren’t visible modifications. I have to do it from beginning
When phone is blocked, I can open upper menu and turn off/on wifi/data, what shouldn’t be possible
And the last one, what can I send a feedback? In system there isn’t a feedback options

RonDejano I’m not sure if this will work or not but based on my experience, you can downgrade back to 2.0.4 by installing the NOS Beta app that you can grab from the Open Beta 2 thread, then download the rollback zip 2.0.4 and follow rollback instructions.
It is because that app allowed to installation of outdated zip.
Another method is ota, one I have not tried yet.
If you already used 2.5.1.A, just chill on it. When 2.5.1 came, people get mad not get the update, only Beta chooms got first. Then suddenly, people went back to 2.0.4.
startiel If you looking for a security patch, don’t update it because it still cooking the November patch.
Check out changelog 2.5.1 and 2.5.1.A, if those changelogs catch your eye, why not update them?
LeonardEmurllai that didn’t happen for me when I opened it up, I reinstalled the google wallet and have tried many troubleshooting steps to no avail
The biggest problem after the patch was the battery usage. It drains so fast now, before I can use my phone minimum of 10 hours stamraight from browsing, streaming, and a little gaming, but now my phone drains too much just from a little gaming. Does anyone have the same issues too?
Downgrade package worked as a patch for the beta version, it won’t work now
RapidZapper ahh. Thanks, good to know and sorry because is better if I tried first before recommending it to others.
Because I just factory reset my phone I thought the Spotify crash was related to 2.5.1.A but turns out, is a Beta app version issue.
So, the last option is the ota thing? The one you need to put zip into the OTA folder? Is that also possible?
At least is better won’t work than play in recovery mode.
