I would call it an important feature.

Since there’s no option in nothing OS (yet) to adjust that I use a smart socket with my charger. So I can tell it to charge the phone for a certain time only. I know that’s only a workaround and no real solution but it works fine for me so far.

Works with Alexa, Google, etc.

COPERNICUS I mean it totally depends on how much battery is left for that day, like when I don’t feel like using my phone then it’s usually 55-60% so I skip it and it can easily survive the other day considering I am not going to perform any heavy performance tasks like games, videography etc.

most certainly good for prolonging the life of the battery.

But that is more a user wish, not something a seller from mobile is really interested in, selling a new phone has a higher priority

Erling Is there a particular time is toggles on? Is it only when you plug in the charger at 11pm?
I have it enabled in settings as you mentioned. However, it says everytime 36 mins till full from 7-8% charge. This is on the Nothing Phone 2a.

Gauravvv1 the phone itself has an optimised charging functionality which means, if your phone reaches 80% charging early during the charging cycle, then it will stop the charging for a period of time in order to preserve its Battery health.

Erling Right. Thanks for your reply. So what I noticed is, the other day it did not activate around 4am local time for some reason when I connected the charger. However, the next day it activated even at 2am. So that is what confused me. Now it works fine if I set an alarm and plug in the charger around 2am also.

I also wanted to check, once battery health is active and charger is plugged in, irrespective of the time of alarm you set, it always says ‘will finish charging by 6am’. So say I set an alarm for 8am; so from 6-8am the phone will remain at 100% charge which again wouldn’t be good for the battery right? I thought battery health would set the phone to complete the charge cycle as per the alarm time?

Gauravvv1 not necessarily, the main point of preserving your battery health is that All Phone has number of cycles after(let’s say 450). Only after that amount the battery health starts degrading, plus the software makes constant updated which optimize many things so don’t worry. Just ensure that you take your phone fully charge to your work,use it throughout the day and then charge it at night.

I guess we can expect that in nothing 3.0 or Android 15
