Eren 👁️ Hello everyone, After taking a photo with the front camera on Phone 3, it does AI editing. How can I turn this off? I couldn’t find the setting. If anyone knows, I’d appreciate some help.
CMF1_hacker It is not possible to turn the post-processing off with the default Camera app. I have seen other threads on other forums complaining that the post-processing is low-level and it cannot be bypassed with any camera app on the default firmware.
Eren 👁️ CMF1_hacker That’s bad news. It spoils the nice photo, and that’s not something I want at all; it should be adjustable.
CMF1_hacker Eren 👁️ should, but isn’t. I looked quite a bit at the camera APK, but came to the conclusion that the “True lens 4” software in NOS 3.5bcannot be disabled easily with the amount of effort AI want to invest. I haven’t looked in beta or the stable 4.0 as I am much more interested in the QR encoded handles.
Womey CMF1_hacker Well you answered something on my mind awhile, wow. I have always wondered if you could disable this as well. The post-processing on selfie cam is really appalling. Sad 😢
CMF1_hacker Womey it depends how much time you want to invest with JADX, Android studio and rolling your own APKs. I’m quite busy at the moment so I simply look but don’t modify much at the moment. Also, I find the camera gets better with every update.
Womey CMF1_hacker Sounds way too involved for me haha. Welp, CMF2Pro updates have gotten way worse with time, unfortunately. Just a quick look at the latest update thread is telling.
Eren 👁️ AI Mode on Xiaomi phones: You can turn it on or off. I don’t think it’s very difficult to do. It’s much more user-friendly to have a mode that I can use when I want and not use when I don’t. There’s always something missing with Nothing phones.
Stereobasic Yes it’s super annoying that old photos from a phone from 10 years ago looks more natural and beautiful than a brand new phone. I don’t understand why they do that, it’s ugly. I hate it too. Anyway you will slowly get used to the crap results and forget it and find it rather cool at the end. That’s life… no choice to adapt to ugly.
Eren 👁️ Stereobasic The main reason I switched from the Phone 2 to the Phone 3 was the camera. If they don’t change this by the next model, my next phone unfortunately won’t be a Nothing. I work in social media and sometimes I need natural-looking photos. Looking so artificial makes my job harder. Making this an On/Off update shouldn’t be this difficult.
