App Permissions - Disabling WiFi and Mobile Data Access

How could I stop an individual app to not consuming data from wifi and mobile network.

Bhuvii its simple just restrict wifi and data usage on background and force stop the app. then that app will not get internet access unless you open it. if you want to block ads its better to use adblock dns.

Bhuvii here are the simple steps to follow. settings > apps > special app access > unrestricted data. then turn on the toggle to stop those apps you don’t want to accessing your internet.

HariTeja_Vp4Q5cJ3SD I would suggest long holding on the app in question, go to App Info and then Mobile data and Wi-Fi. Then turn off Background data so that you are disabling usage of mobile data in the background. Is that the solution you’re looking for?

No, this still allows the app to use foreground data. I want to know to know how to stop the app from using any kind of internet data.

HariTeja_Vp4Q5cJ3SD I know it’s not want your looking as this involves 3rd party apps. I’m much like yourself wished Android or Nothing baked in this function to disable connection to any app to WiFi or Cellphone Data.

NetGuard is a small and light app that I’ve personally used over the year’s and on my NP2. At least for now I have the ability to block which ever app connecting to the outside world without my permission.

I want to have an option in App-Permission to disable access to WiFi and Mobile-Data for that one App.

As I looked in the settings and there is no such permission.

But I can press the three dots (Top-Right) and then “All permissions” and open another Frame where I can see that the app has access to WiFi, but can not disable the access.

I have had this option on my old device, a OnePlus, but it doesn’t seem to exist here.

Does anyone know if this is at all possible and how? Or if it isn’t do you think it should be possible?

Good idea. But have you tried

Settings>network& internet>internet>SIM>App data usage

Then click the app you want to turn off the Data service, you will see a option to toggle for “Background Data”.

Hello First, enter the info section of the desired program and disable the background data option. Next, go to the settings section of the phone and select wifi control and disable the access of the desired program.

I want to restrict foreground data usage as well. I use MX player to play videos. It has online section if i accidentally tap it, it consumes so much data. So I want to stop both foreground and background use of data.

My previous device had options to block network access for particular apps in phone. So even if the data or WiFi is on that app could not use it.

This was really helpful to get rid of unwanted ads in game. I used to block network access of games to avoid ads. It was also useful when I want to be offline on WhatsApp & use my phone normally otherwise.

But I could not find such options in NP2A Only options it has… is to block background data. I want to block both background & foreground data for particular apps

PIRATEBABU Haha! I use it for the same purpose! It is named after “network management” on my phone (not Nothing), but I think it’s part of android, so search it in the settings, and it might turn up.

PIRATEBABU For this you can always try to use AdGuard’s DNS. It blocks most ads and trackers, so you’ll get similar results. Go to “settings>network and internet>private DNS”, select “private DNS provider hostname” and enter dns.adguard-dns.com

Try long-pressing the app icon. Do you have something along the lines of App info > Data usage? If you do, do you also have Disable mobile data and Disable Wi-Fi?
