My main concern is the lack of cohesion in the UI. Let me explain with some practical example.
In the settings menu, we can choose the system font, why doesn’t the font change for titles as well? For the latter, you can choose two fonts (one of which is experimental), but they are completely different from the system ones… why?
Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to make the complete list of fonts available at the system level? When you change the system font, you expect the ENTIRE system to adapt.
Why can’t I see notification icons on the AOD? What’s the point of having an always-on display (which can also be recalled at will) that only shows the time or a few widgets? It’s completely useless. At least from my point of view.
On the lock screen, if I choose to expand the widget area and add an analog clock, I’ll have a duplicate. At the top, however, the small digital clock with the date will still be visible. Again, what’s the point? If I want an analog clock and a calendar widget, I can add them; why not make the digital clock excludable?
The theme color customization is half-baked, so why doesn’t it affect the quick tiles? I expect that if I choose an accent color, I can apply it separately to different parts of the UI.
Icon packs. I can’t apply a single icon to a specific app. Why this limitation?
Furthermore, applying icon packs works system-wide when applied to the Nothing launcher. If you change launchers with a different icon pack, you’ll still see the icons applied to the system launcher in some menus (multitasking) and splash screens.
Another thing, and this one is very inconvenient, is that if I swipe down, the quick toggles open. Why do I have to swipe down again to get to the brightness bar and find it in the notifications?
The brightness bar is a tool, it has nothing to do with notifications 🙂
Why don’t essential notifications on the glyph matrix work if DND is enabled? I would love to be able to mute all sounds with DND and still see if I have any notifications on the glyph matrix. Wouldn’t that make more sense? If I already hear the sound or vibration, why would I want to look at the glyph matrix?
These are some things I’d like to see changed in future software releases, along with some improvements to the camera software, which isn’t exactly perfect for videos in medium lighting conditions.
Of course, these are my personal opinions, which can be discussed. I appreciate minimalism, but that doesn’t mean removing useful features. I guess, however, that coding software is no joke, so these criticisms are meant to be constructive, from my point of view.
Thank you!
