I got my Watch Pro today and tested it for accuracy against my Huawei Watch Fit. I did a 2km outdoor walk setting the GPS on both devices. I was happy to see that they were virtually identical. Apart from one thing. When I’d synced both watches with the respective apps I went to check out the details and I was surprised to see the tracking details on the Watch Pro showing that my run was somewhere in Kazakhstan when I live in the UK. On the CMF app for tracking a run it’s perfectly accurate. How can I change the tracking on the watch?

I seem to have the same issue, I have run 2 times an the problem isn’t solved, I hope the latest update has fixed it.

marpito14 Sorry to hear you have the same issue. I’ve just the latest updates, restarted the watch as advised by Nothing and………, exactly the same. Next idea is to reset the watch, but it will wipe all your personal data. But I’ll have to try it tomorrow. I’ll let you know what happens or if I get any more advice from Nothing or CMF.

Hello, I have also had this issue. I contacted customer support and these are the steps they gave me. I was not able to get it to work but if you do then plz let me know 🙂

(Also resetting the watch and/or unbinding the watch from the app does delete the data from the watch, but all of the data stays on the app and isn’t deleted, you can see it on the app but not on the watch.)

      1. Please change the time zone of your phone to GMT+1:00. After changing the time zone, please manually stop the CMF Watch app and then reopen it.
      *For iOS: Settings>>General>>Date & Time>>London
      *For Android: Settings>>System>>Date & Time>>Region:United Kingdom
      2. Please bind your watch in CMF Watch app.
Note: After the first binding, the watch will restart and you need to bind it again for successful operation.
      3. After successful binding, please enter the CMF Watch app and wait for the app to automatically synchronize the time. Then, you can use your watch normally. Once done, you can restore the time zone on your phone back to your local time zone.

Note: Please enter the CMF Watch app to upgrade your watch to the latest firmware: Device update. Otherwise, if you restore factory settings or unbind the watch in the app, you will encounter the same issue and need to follow the above steps for repair again. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Obliviouswaffle Thank you for your reply, I’m sorry you have the same issue. I haven’t been able to see if the reset option worked today, I hope to tomorrow. If it doesn’t I’ll have a try at the things you were given to try and let you know.

antonisb Hello, I tried the reset option today and I still gave the wrong location, so as soon as I can I’ll try the options you were given to try.

MarkG13 I didn’t get to try out your options as I received a message from CMF about it on Instagram today. They said they haven’t come across this issue before and are passing it onto the tech people and hopefully they’ll have an update to sort it out soon.

Hello! I live in Spain and I have the same problem. When I do outdoor sports, the GPS places me in Afghanistan. I hope they fix it soon.

Having the exact same issue. I’m in the UK and it’s showing my runs in Kazakhstan. Somehow, the distance and route shape seems to be correct, just in a completely different country 😂

Callum Hi, yes it is very frustrating. The CMF app has my location spot on, it’s just the watch Pro GPS that is wrong. I’ve reported it to CMF on Instagram and they said they haven’t come across this issue before. They have passed it onto the tech people and I’ve sent them whatever they asked for to see what was going on, but I’m still waiting for a reply.

Callum Hi, just a further question, I wonder that now I have found another 4 people including you with this issue, is it a problem with a particular version of the Watch Pro? I have the Chrome version with the orange strap. Which one do you have please? I think I’ll make another post about this particular question and see if I can get any information from that.

Jvilla Hi, sorry to hear that you are also having a similar problem. I’m trying to find out if it is an issue with a particular veIrsion of the Watch Pro? I have the Chrome version, what do you have please? Also with you, I know of 5 people who have this issue.

Callum Thank you for the reply. Yes it does look like it is a issue regardless which version you have. I’m still hoping the tech people will be able to fix it. You would think they would want to have a look at a faulty model to see if it helps, but no, I asked about a replacement but got referred to the seller, which I think is poor, because Amazon didn’t make it, only sell it on behalf of CMF.

If it’s on every model it must be a software issue, but if everyone has the same software then why are we the only ones affected 🤔
The GPS definitely works perfectly fine I think it might be the app putting it in the wrong place on the map and not a problem with the watch itself

I have the same issue with GPS location showing as Kazakhstan instead of UK. Not fixed after latest update.

Bump, same issue. walking round UK, showing me in Borat’s home country!

Thank you everyone for your responses. So it seems like it’s quite a widespread issue. Is anyone from CMF listening???????? When I contacted them on Instagram I was told they hadn’t come across this before. I think someone is telling porkies. Has anyone sent their Watch Pro black to be replaced and was it ok on the replacement or still faulty?

I’ve just tweeted at them with a link to this thread asking for an update, if I get any response I’ll keep you all posted! Another 3 mile run in Kazakhstan done tonight… 😂
