BevanKumar Yes, there’s a glitch in the Auto Brightness setting.

Theoretically, you’re supposed tho “train” Auto brightness by manually adjusting the brightness slider to your liking.

After a week or so of such training, auto brightness is supposed to work according to your personal preferences.

This worked very well on my Oneplus 5, but sadly failed to do so on the NP2 even after20 days of training.

Now I leave the Auto brightness toggle off & manually adjust the brightness slider.

BevanKumar the screen protector must have a litle “carving” on the top side, about 5mm right of the speaker, where the sensors are. I had same issue when I put a screen protector that covered 100% of the screen

BevanKumar I guess there are two light sensors in NP2.

One is at the front and the other one is at the back above the flashlight.

So the brightness is changing based on the both sensors.

Gun_Put Check using a light source, it works as a light sensor. It may be that small hole or the two flashlights.

SrsThewrongguy I did use a torch to check.

I had also read that this hole is a mike.

Anyway, is auto brightness working OK for you after 2.5.2?

I bought this phone yesterday and my brightness levels are most of the time 40% approx despite keeping it at 65-70% I know this is due to adaptive brightness but even in office setup it is low. And in night the lowest brightness is not low despite turning on dimming feature so kindly give lowest brightness possible in normal mode because it will help at night.

Seems a issie similar to this post, I’m still waiting for a clear response from Nothing regarding the brightness level consistently resetting after entering a darker environment. Their only suggestion has been to turn off the auto-brightness, which is hardly an acceptable solution.

Is it really acceptable that users have to manually adjust the auto-brightness each time they enter a darker environment? I find this very disappointing, especially for a flagship device from Nothing. Isn’t it supposed to learn user preferences and automatically adjust the brightness like all other smartphones do?

I’m using a Nothing Phone 2 and facing an issue with auto-brightness. The screen dims randomly in different situations and returns to normal within 3 seconds. This happens frequently and is quite annoying.

In nothing phone one as well

Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes?
