CMF Watch Pro Watchface SDK: Upcoming community initiative

After months of work, I'm finally confident enough to say that we're going to have Community-made Watchfaces. While most of the work over the last few weeks has been about understanding the structure of watchface files and documenting everything, the focus over the next few weeks will be on building tools and allowing a select group of community designers to try out the tools before the general release. In the last few days, I've finally built the community's very first watchface: "Big Ben", a perfect test that recalls the country where it all began. ![](https://s3-nothing-prod.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/2024-02-12/1707749352-171469-image.png "Big Ben Preview") Tools are being developed for the Web so that they can be used by everyone. Release window is 2024 for now, but i'll have more precise information soon. Further news will be published in the next weeks in this thread. I can't wait to release this tool for the community.

@RapidZapper This is a great initiative, given there is no SDK released. Got the watch a few days ago and so far the watch faces are honestly a hit or miss for me. The ones I like for the esthetics, don’t have information like steps, show only calories, some show them but have no date or don’t have a matching AOD. The Amazfit community watches did increase the appeal and longevity and impacted them positively. You are doing a favor not only for the community but Nothing as well. If you have a Patreon or Ko-fi, would gladly pitch in for the effort. Good luck mate!

@RapidZapper Is there any update about the release? I wanted to know if you can add some functionality to the app as well, like improve the Health Connect sync, Mainly Sleep data since the watch only records total sleep duration in Health Connect. Can you add that functionality? If not can you suggest how I can do it? (I have good enough knowledge about coding and app development I just have no idea about reverse engineering an app and making a separate app just for sleep data sync will just be a hassle for users)

Unfortunately I’m not looking at 2024 for a release anymore, I’m mostly holding on this since we don’t have an “official” way to install resulting files which would make the experience frustrating for end users.

Lot of progress have been made since this initial announcement so it’s only a matter of finding a good way for users to install Community files.

Hopefully I should have more to share in 2025
