It seems they’ve chosen to roll out new features to various devices gradually. Imagine the complaints from users of older models if a feature was released on Phone 2 but delayed for months on Phone 1 or Phone 2a. This phased approach ensures uniformity across all devices. Every model gets to experience something new and won’t feel outdated. I believe each device has its own update schedule and pre-planned feature release roadmap. This approach differs from other brands that typically introduce features on their flagship models first. Of course, every flagship is eventually replaced by a newer generation, so if this trend continues, it’s not so bad in my opinion.
But you can always debate for why not releasing it for all models at the same time? The answer to this would probably be the smaller team and development cycles being different for all models.
