@SSudarsan I was about to purchase Phone 1 then Phone 2 launched, after going through so many unboxing reviews I was about to go and buy but just then Phone 2a launched and I was very confused just like you. Up until 4 days ago I was desperate for a new phone as my old device was 4-year-old (ahem! OnePlus Nord - the worst phone I’ve ever bought) I need a serious upgrade that could last me for another 4 years. Phone 2a gave me some clarity, it was minimalistic compared to Phone 2 overall heavy design with so many lights (which may consume more battery that Phone 2a with simple 3 Gplyhs system) and I’ve seen Phone 2 having better performance than Phone 2a and its only 1.3% latency difference which I think is super fine. I had to decide which one and Thanks to Flipkart Big Billion sale and exchange offer, I bought Phone 2a for just 16k. I was simply blown away by Phone 2a performance and I am pretty sure Phone 2 is much better than 2a but considering the price I paid, it feels like I own a better phone that iPhone, (sorry iPhone fans). It has been hardly 2 days, and I cannot stop admiring phone 2a. My dad keeps asking me what’s this and that inside the phone and for some reason Phone 2a brings smile to me. I saw many reviews about camera being not so good. In reality no smartphone has best camera it’s all just software enhancements and how we see them inside the phone display, but the moment I copied my photos to my pc and viewed them on a large display I saw the clear difference. I’ve been waiting for Phone 3 too, but it may only come around in 2025 and I have not heard any official announcements or news about its arrival anytime soon. If you can go with a phone for the next 3-4 years am sure you will find the next future phone after 2028 would be the right time for a serious upgrade. If your budget is equivalent to Phone 2 and if you did thorough research about its features and what it offers in comparison with Phone 2a and its price? You will find a clear answer by yourself. I hope this may help you in deciding the best device for your money. (or wait for Phone 2a - the community edition - it looks crazy with all glowing patterns). All the best for your new device.
