Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about Nothing’s philosophy of making technology feel more intentional rather than more demanding, and it inspired me to explore a widget concept called MeTime.
The idea is simple. Today, our phones measure almost everything, from steps and sleep to screen time and productivity. But they never measure something equally important: the moments that genuinely belong to us.
MeTime is a one-tap widget where the sunflower itself acts as the interaction. Tap it once to begin your MeTime, put your phone away, and when you return, tap it again to end the session. Instead of rewarding productivity, the widget quietly celebrates intentional moments and visualizes your relationship with your own time through a minimalist sunflower that gradually flourishes over consistent use.
The goal isn’t to reduce screen time or gamify staying away from your phone. It’s to create a small daily ritual that reminds us to intentionally choose ourselves for a few moments every day.
I genuinely feel this aligns with Nothing’s design philosophy. It’s calm, minimal, and encourages technology to know when to step aside instead of constantly demanding attention.
I’ve attached a short presentation explaining the thinking behind the concept, the philosophy, the interaction model, and why I believe it could feel native to Nothing OS.
I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts, critiques, and ideas on how this concept could be improved. Looking forward to the discussion
