Essential Voice Enhancements

🔡 You can now customise whether a long-press or a double-click of the Essential Key triggers translation or transcription while typing. Set it up in Settings > Intelligence toolkit > Essential Voice > Customise Essential Key.
⌨️ Quick switch between translation and transcription is now available by long-pressing the icon on the keyboard.

Camera Enhancements

📹 Lock Lens keeps your video framing steady by preventing automatic lens switching during recording. Enable in Camera settings > Lock Lens.
📷 Optimised camera memory usage for a smoother shooting experience.

General Improvements and Bug Fixes

🎚️ Refined the volume slider to allow seamless and more precise adjustment when dragging.
🔐 Added a security reminder for the face unlock method.
⚙️ Enhanced overall system stability.
🛡️ Updated to July 2026 security patch.

One thing I am appalled by, is the fact that once a new device ( A series) launches, it gets monthly feature and security updates, then about 7-8 months after, the updates stop and they go back to nearly quarter year updates (3 month period).

Why does the Nothing Phone 4a Pro take more importance than the rest of the Nothing lineup and most importantly, the flagship Phone (3)? 😡

Nice update overall. The Lock Lens option is probably the feature I’m most interested in, since automatic lens switching can be distracting while recording. It’s also good to see another monthly security patch and some general stability improvements. Thanks for keeping the updates coming!

That is my point, it is just better to get the 4a Pro if you want current OS features!

BhaveshMeena we have to wait according to nothing past history updates September to October beta of nothing os 5.0 will expected to release and in November we can’t expect stable nothing os 5.0 update I am just saying this on the basis of nothing past updates

The additions to Essential Voice are good, but the camera needs a way to automatically switch between lenses even at 60 fps. Instead, the opposite was done, an option was added to remove this feature even at 30. This is not good.

Everything is good I tried to look for my Indian language Malayalam, eventhough our neighbours Tamil Nadu and Karnataka’s respective languages are there for translation, but I am ready to wait for it ,hope u will add

Getting to the matter , I tried translating english to tamil but funny enough it translated to Spanish . Currently only found issue for tamil so hope the team will fix it .
