grepGander I hope I won’t jinx myself now but, 4-5 days since the update and not a single network issue at all after that June update disaster. No mobile data togging itself off, no hotspot problems… I’m still expecting some crap but so far so good 😁

Hotspot… I wrote about it extensively here - #600497 - is also back to being rock solid. I can again choose 2.4 GHz and have network channel 1 pretty much always from the first toggling on:

And when I switch to 5 GHz (which I always use anyway) I get network channel 36 immediately without wasting literal hours trying to hit it somehow:

So tl; dr - all network-related issues introduced in June are, seemingly, fixed in this current update. On both (3a)s here, can’t comment about every single one out there, clearly. No other issues at all, the phone is back to being amazing, as it was before that June joke.

Please update Nothing OS: Go to Settings > About phone > Nothing OS > Update Firmware.
Go to Phone Settings(not within the Nothing X App) > Tap the avatar in the top‑right corner > Sign out of your account, then sign back in.

2009aditya8raj I personally think that we actually did not get any update/s, this was another token gesture notification, to appear like they were actually updating our software. Their team do not possess the experience or knowledge to update our phones, and have been essentially fudging/treading water and avoiding us buyers for sometime.

@“AlanMacedo”#p303045 You could try force stopping the app then clearing the app cache and data and disabling and reenabling the app, this is what I did before signing out and back into my Nothing account in the settings menu. Mine is working ok at the moment, will let you know if I get logged out again.

People around here claim that the (3a) is forgotten, but they can’t specify nor show the exact missing feature(s) (sans the AI crapware where Gemini is simply far superior and it’s already present in Nothing OS). Weird stuff… Extremely minor differences in the UI design are not features, lmao. If you change your tshirt from white to grey, you didn’t change any feature of yourself as a person, you just changed your tshirt.

Battery life with this last update is absolutely bonkers. From decent (June, that update was fine except about its network issues), to superb. All of this is outside, hot summer sunny day, all 5G, screen auto but likely never below 60% brightness:

grepGander Same I also noticed my 3a pro battery life slowly going downhill 😔. from 8 hrs average on a 70 percent charge to just 5 hrs on 81 percent and I hate to say but google ’s app and play store background usage is the culpri

I find is disgusting that companies do this deliberately even Samsung does this they update your phone at the time of a launch time and then degrade your battery so you think maybe I SHOULD upgrade even though its perfectly fine for your phone to run for 6 years without hassle. I think Nothing Tech London is doing this and they are copy cats of the worst possible features copied apple slop in charging brick

copied their disgusting battery icons cant even read battery level have to stare at it for 10 seconds on a white or black background to check it clearly . No essential key customisation even simple camera button setting in camera app is fine I don’t care abt ai features. we have plenty , maybe add option to use it as assistant key ( hold to launch ai assistant - gemini, google assistant , gpt, claude, perplexity - customisable like one ui 3.1 🙂🙂 yes 3.1 not 8

It’s what, 10 days since the update? I’m happy to report that we (my gf and I) have not had a single issue with our (3a)s. None. Everything works great again (as it had before the June ’26 slopdate), mobile data is not randomly toggling itself off for no reason at all, and the hotspot, whenever turned on, is literally always on the 5 GHz channel 36 (instead of toggling it on and off and on and off and on like a lunatic for 15-45 minutes until it hits it), including right now:

Battery life is great (better than with the last update), performance is great (it wasn’t an issue anyway, but just saying), and apart from delayed notifications (an Android issue in general, nothing to do with Nothing), I have no complaints. Stellar update, 10/10.

Actually, there’s maaaaybe one bug with the proximity sensor, but I have to test that again. I took a call all sweaty after my running session, so the screen was randomly turning on and off, which I’m assuming was because of my sweaty ear 😅 It only happened then, so I think that was the cause. But yeah, I love updates like this so thanks again Team Nothing 🫡

ChrisJ_Joseph_P1NpRo6vMr Just having the freedom and option to choose the safest, most secure OS out there if and when I need it. I used to use it back on my old Pixels, so it’s also a bit of a habit, heh. The (3a) is back to being flawless (for now) so… we’ll see 🦄

Edit: GrapheneOS is in many ways similar to Nothing OS. It has only 14 preinstalled apps (basically the same as NOS if you remove the mandatory Google apps), and they (not the apps but the OSes) also look similar visually (monochrome and minimal). It’s just ultra hardened for maximum security and privacy. What’s not to like? I would love to see a Nothing phone capable of running GrapheneOS though, but that’s a hardware limitation and it won’t happen in near future as currently, not a single non-Tensor chip is able to run it, not even the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The update really didn’t help (Indian user here), instead i feel my battery is draining lots faster after the update on my Nothing 3a! Are any other folks using the same handset facing the same issue! Can you please look into this!

I’m having an issue with notifications. It seems to be related only to Telegram, though I’m not entirely sure. A notification appears for a millisecond and then immediately disappears. Also, notifications get grouped into a block, even though I feel they should appear as independent, separate notifications.

I’m relatively new to Android, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the intended notification behavior.

Nothing Phone (3a), OS 4.1. I’ve done a few resets already, even a hard reset via the bootloader.

so a few days back i updated my 3a pro to the latest OS update Asteroids-B4.1-260810-1153-IND and ever since im facing this issue where my phone automatically switches back to 4G even when im in a high connectivity range and it actually gets full bars(during 5g i get 1 bar less) so it actually improves but thats very annoying as i rely on 5G to study, i tried resetting my network settings, manually switching to 5G and all but it does the same thing again and again. Currently forcing 5G by using NR only settings but that comes with a drawback of it loosing complete network signals when it usually tries switching to LTE, devs please helpppp 🙂
