peepingdog Global sanctions, especially those on Huawei, mean their chips can’t be used by anyone who wants to sell phones in the Western market (which is essentially everybody), even though Huawei was willing to sell them to interested parties. Which is also why all non-China Xiaomis use Qualcomm or Mediatek. So, unless you’re in China, the market is effectively limited to Qualcomm, Mediatek, and Unisoc (plus Samsung, Apple and Google, though they don’t sell theirs to third parties so that doesn’t change anything). There’s no one else, although there are a few rumors of rumors about Nvidia returning to the phone market.
