Thanks to the awesome (insiders) opportunity and the Nothing Community team, I’ve had my hands on the Nothing Phone (2a) since late December and have collected my thoughts about this awesome product - My full review here!

I really like the design and am considering buying the 128GB version when it comes out in Japan.🤗

yukilab🇯🇵 It would be a downgrade if you switch over from phone 2 to phone 2a. But if you are considering for a secondary device for basic multi and social media usage, you can go ahead.

yukilab🇯🇵 I don’t know why you would want the 2a over the 2 I am new to nothing and have just purchased the 2a and although I am very happy with its performance and looks I do miss the feel of a top end phone with metal surround and I am sure I will upgrade to either nothing 2 or nothing 3 if this is in the pipeline great o/s design and build just think I should of spent the extra on the 2

Please note, that throughout this review, my unit received many updates. Sometimes multiple during a week. Therefore, certain elements have only been stress tested in the most recent days. There were around fifteen updates in total.

Is Ram LPDDR4X or 5X? and Rom is UFS2.2?

NyiNyiPhone it has LPDDR4X ram with UFS 2.2 which is just ok but many brands offers UFS 3.1 at same or even in low price range

The Nothing Phone (2a) will receive three Android OS upgrades and four security updates, which isn’t quite as good as what Samsung or Google offer at a slightly higher price bracket, but it’s still better than most handsets available under $350. This means you can feel safe holding onto the phone for several years without worrying about missing security updates or losing out on new features when the next version of Android comes around.Let’s get the obvious out of the way - the single most eye-catching aspect of Nothing’s smartphone lineup is that ludicrously brash see-through backside cheekily exposing internal components for onlookers to gawk at. It made the original Phone (1) an immediate head-turner back in 2022 and that captivating transparent aesthetic remains the marquee design trait with the Phone (2a).The AMOLED panel gets remarkably bright – up to 1300 nits, ensuring easy outdoor visibility. The 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, which means that the display can switch the refresh rate between 30-120Hz depending on the content. produces, so you get fluid animations and scrolling. There’s Gorilla Glass 5 on top, too, so you are somewhat safe of accidental scratches and drops.

I have seen my unboxing on internet (YouTube). and almost every one is happy with the product Nothing Phone 2a.

But but but, all of them has raised a issue with Camera where there is shift in the color on both back cameras. and Also lack in detailing (especially while taking portrait)

i wish this will resolved by software update

Secondarily, I’m also bit disappointed with UFS 2.2 and DDR4x where many offer and even processor is capable of UFS 3.1 and DDR5.

I think the Phone (2a) is slightly better than Nothing Phone (1) in terms of performance. Nothing Phone 1 has a Snapdragon 788G+ Procesor with 2.5GHz Primary Core Speed while the Nothing Phone 2a boasts a Dimensity 7200 Pro Chip with the 2.8GHz Primary Core Speed. Moreover, it comes with the in-built Latest Android 14 support and promises 3yr of major software updates. However, we missing the glass back panel, Metal Frame, and Wireless Charging Support from the Phone (1)

Very Good Display With 120Hz Screen Refresh Rate (I like the most)
Slightly better chipset than Phone (1)
Good Camera Features
Massive Battery and Charging
Latest Software Support
