CMF Speaker S and Speaker M were designed with clean lines and unique shape. But the best bit isn’t how they look (though we’re pretty proud of that too). It’s that you can take them apart. On both sizes, the volume knob and panels pop off and can be swapped out. You can trade with a friend or mix and match colours. Plus, if there’s a 3D printer sitting in the corner of your room, you can make your own. We’re sharing the full 3D files for both speakers, so go wild. 💡 A few tips before you hit print: Pick your material: PLA is easy to print and great for a first go. If you want something a bit tougher for parts you’ll handle a lot, like the knob, PETG is worth a try. Go finer on the small stuff: Smaller parts like knobs look much better with a finer layer height, especially if you’re adding lettering or texture. Test the fit first: Every printer is a little different, so print one part and check the fit before you commit to a full set. A small tweak to your settings usually sorts out anything too tight or too loose. Think about orientation: How you place a part on the bed changes how it turns out. Printing panels flat usually gives you the cleanest front face. We recommend printing horizontally for the best rigidity. Make it yours: Add your initials, a logo, a texture, whatever you like. Oh this is so cool! I remember when CMF Phone 1 came out and seeing everything people got up to! Now, having another product category opens up a whole new world of possibilities!

Now that pretty much everything can be vibe coded, and 3D printers, lasers etc. are mature and affordable, it’s a very good product strategy to open up things for individual customisation, as long as it can’t easily brick the devices.

A few more features. You can now extend the panel to the sides (left and right). You can add a gap to the speaker box which recesses the controls, as well. And you can add “racing stripes” (recessed grooves) and “hair” (top slits).

So the buttons stl file are all one piece in bambu studios how do I split them to print specific ones? And some are floating so it won’t print , I’m not fluid in studios so idk how to do it

I had to resize the ghost to 95% for it to be a tight fit to get the tactile feel. Normal size was too loose. (In bambu studios I cut the stem off, and printed multiple sizes to save on material. And for my printer 95% worked best. Power button I have size up for it to register. The faceplate printed horizontal normal size and it fit

Order the M from nothing store still hasn’t shipped. So I ordered the S from Amazon and it arrived today. Will post more designs as I print more

If it works better for you, good. Options are good. I took a completely different approach by making everything generative, no fixed 3D models and graphics, all computed the moment you move a slider. That’s why it takes a moment when you change something, it has to create the 3D model from scratch (multiple megabytes of 3D meshes).

Latest update: You can now layer text and SVG imports in multicolor mode and use text for the custom knobs.

While it’s great to see you sharing the STLs for stuff like this, the designs are never FDM 3D print friendly. I feel if this is something you plan to make a standard part of a product launch, the designs should start to take 3D printer abilities into account so these are more practical.
