phone ( 1 ) + usbc ( data ) . Nothing more
Phone(1) - What's in the box?
arpan2308 To be realistic here, no seal mechanism can stop one or two frauds delivered by Flipkart. I have seen soap in a perfectly sealed iPhone Box.

@Louis
With all these ideas, I think Nothing should be able to give us something interesting:
- A box that can be opened and reused like the OnePlus box for example,
- A transparent USB-C data cable,
- Good quality stickers to show everyone that we belong to Nothing,
- The QR-code (from @Kastello ) for the digital manual and the contact details for service [sales - phone number (1) and others]
And then maybe a specific surprise for some of the first Phone(1) ?
What would you like to see as a special surprise for a number of future Phone(1) owners?
Sayan_Dutta Yes, that my fear. Lets hope thing go well. Open box delivery is the only solution but still seal should be solid. Even in open box delivery it is difficult to check full contents of box.
arpan2308 I’d recommend them to go the sony wearable packaging way, any tamper can be evident, and won’t be as easy as wrapping a thin plastic again.
Sayan_Dutta ear(1) packing was also good. Tamper proof. Only way to open is to tear the box.
arpan2308 Still saw 2 consumer got all scratched and used ear(1) case, neatly packed.
cristian This is quite similar to what Sony have just done with their latest phone release. In the box was just the phone and a cable (I believe), going very minimalist on the contents. Let’s be real, most of us just only need a phone and a cable right? Does anyone actually do anything with the rest of the contents of your boxes (unless reselling, of course).
Sib64 What would you like to see as a special surprise for a number of future Phone(1) owners?
Not sure about a “surprise” per se but a little “thank you” card and the which device serial you got (e.g. you got device #52) would be appreciated by many I’m sure. I don’t know if they have any plans for serial/numbering but if so I hope we’d all get a chance to get the low numbers and not just London this time like ear(1)
arpan2308 i think a transparent usb c cable would look great but over time it will turn yellow and look really ugly. I would prefer a braided cable with some distinctive or detail such as a special color.
AlejandroPalacios Yes good point. A braided cable anything is always great from long lasting perspective. Given the recent design reveal, a braided cable with same texture as of phone1 back will look nice.
Personally would prefer a watch that do not require constant charging. A simple durable wearable would be really nice!
Great thread @Louis - no idea how I missed it a month ago! Lots of great suggestions and ideas. I agree particularly with @Sayan_Dutta about the materials used - I’d feel super proud of the team if they can avoid any needless plastic.
I wouldn’t be upset if there’s no power brick included - as long as a we can add an optional one at checkout too.
Ps. I’ve always appreciated a pre-applied screen protector
Some good ideas here, I would love to make an unboxing video
They did mention in the behind-the-scenes video that they worked hard for the unboxing experience. Let’s see how nice it gets.
I don’t know how not adding charger in box is saving earth ? There will me more plastic pollution.. Because anyway I have to buy charger and which will have different packaging , courier wrapper bag…
Better we have option to choose “charger in box” or without while purchasing..

If someone needs something they go get it; that’s obvious. However, a lot of people no longer need a charging cable with their new smartphone – especially those who do not live alone – as they already have several charging cables laying around their household.
At this point I feel all phone manufacturers should hold off including charging cables, but without screwing over people that need one. Perhaps when ordering a phone the charging cable can be offered as an extra for a nominal amount, along with a message for why the cable is not included, gently dissuading people from ordering a cable they do not need.
