Phone(1) - What's in the box?
arpan2308 phone1 stickers
I think A LOT of people in the community would be excited to see this, especially since @Rob tweeted about his epic collection.
Kastello QR Code for a digital handbook
Didn’t think about this, nice idea also! Who include all the papers when you could scan and see, unless you legally have to include it.
Speaking of the box itself, I hate ripping boxes and the fact I had no choice with the ear(1) box made me sad, so I hope there’s a way to open the box and keep it completely intact
A lot of people already said it, but I agree with a USB cable, transparent, long, preferably USB C to C and also a small plug because current chargers are getting old, still USB A, and the faster plugs are still relatively new so I haven’t picked one up yet.
I’m with adbo on the box having a design that doesn’t destroy it haha I tend to keep the boxes for the future incase I need somewhere to put away the device.
And very good detail arpan2308 pointed out were those stickers Apple used were HORRIBLE lol. My iPhone 13 pro came from Apple with one half way ripped off already.
I’d love some Nothing/Phone (1) stickers in the box. I have probably 374 usb-c cables so I wouldn’t mind if there wasn’t one.
For the box I’d like the same design language the Ear (1) box had. simple image of the device and maybe “Nothing Phone (1)” printed in the brand font on the sides.
Louis I agree that a longer USB C cable would be nice (transparent) though I actually like having a bumper case come with my phone… I tend to leave it on most of the time and usually when I upgrade my phone and sell my old one the phone itself is in great condition due to the bumper case doing it’s thing. Though I’m expecting the phone(1) to be a thing of beauty so therefor no bumper case (and just double check my phone insurance is still place for any drops).
Louis I am really liking what Sony is doing with their Wearable Packaging which is made of sugarcane fiber, bamboo and recycled paper which essentially mean they are sustainable and eco-friendly and they look super-classy to my eyes.

I would personally like them to scrap all the plastic and useless material from the box, keeping it as low profile as possible (Gonna help save a ton of money in logistics and packaging).
Coming to the in-box content, the cable should be Type-C to Type-C, the charging adapter, if it supports fast charging(45W is bare minimum), should be a GaN Charger (Light, powerful and will help the box to be slim) , it should have all the PPS, PD, QC Charging protocols and should be able to charge macbook air(or any laptop with PD Charging) and iPads.
I would love a Type C to 3.5mm adapter, if the Phone(1) doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack (which is likely :0 Sorry yo jack)
If they aren’t smart enough to implement the self-removing SIM/SD Card Tray (W/o any tool -Like Sony), they must give a ejecting pin.
I would love some stickers, but absolutely no paper apart from a beautiful Quick Start Guide(A Card with QR Code may be given for all the books and shit).
Yo, excited. Thanks for the post!
phone ( 1 ) + usbc ( data ) . Nothing more
arpan2308 To be realistic here, no seal mechanism can stop one or two frauds delivered by Flipkart. I have seen soap in a perfectly sealed iPhone Box.

@Louis
With all these ideas, I think Nothing should be able to give us something interesting:
- A box that can be opened and reused like the OnePlus box for example,
- A transparent USB-C data cable,
- Good quality stickers to show everyone that we belong to Nothing,
- The QR-code (from @Kastello ) for the digital manual and the contact details for service [sales - phone number (1) and others]
And then maybe a specific surprise for some of the first Phone(1) ?
What would you like to see as a special surprise for a number of future Phone(1) owners?
Sayan_Dutta Yes, that my fear. Lets hope thing go well. Open box delivery is the only solution but still seal should be solid. Even in open box delivery it is difficult to check full contents of box.
arpan2308 I’d recommend them to go the sony wearable packaging way, any tamper can be evident, and won’t be as easy as wrapping a thin plastic again.
Sayan_Dutta ear(1) packing was also good. Tamper proof. Only way to open is to tear the box.
arpan2308 Still saw 2 consumer got all scratched and used ear(1) case, neatly packed.
cristian This is quite similar to what Sony have just done with their latest phone release. In the box was just the phone and a cable (I believe), going very minimalist on the contents. Let’s be real, most of us just only need a phone and a cable right? Does anyone actually do anything with the rest of the contents of your boxes (unless reselling, of course).
Sib64 What would you like to see as a special surprise for a number of future Phone(1) owners?
Not sure about a “surprise” per se but a little “thank you” card and the which device serial you got (e.g. you got device #52) would be appreciated by many I’m sure. I don’t know if they have any plans for serial/numbering but if so I hope we’d all get a chance to get the low numbers and not just London this time like ear(1)
arpan2308 i think a transparent usb c cable would look great but over time it will turn yellow and look really ugly. I would prefer a braided cable with some distinctive or detail such as a special color.
AlejandroPalacios Yes good point. A braided cable anything is always great from long lasting perspective. Given the recent design reveal, a braided cable with same texture as of phone1 back will look nice.
Personally would prefer a watch that do not require constant charging. A simple durable wearable would be really nice!
