Can someone confirm the current and power rating of the type C cable provided in Nothing 2a box? I tested my phone with a couple of PD PPS chargers yesterday and measured charging estimates using Ampere app. The current flow was shown at 5A. GaN charger was delivering charge at ~20W (estimate by Ampere app) and in all cases it showed charging status as ‘Rapidly Charging’.
Phone (2a) - Fast Charging
VaibhavJoshi_fVpTRkEhS0 it’s the same for me with a 45 watt charger
I’m not getting the advertised speed either. I’m on 2.5.4 and using an Anker 45w PPS charger. I’ve tried my Samsung 25w pd charger and it’s the same.

I got my nothing phone 2a last saturday and from day 1 I noticed some variations in charging speed but after the update the charging speed is totally messing up It took me around 2 hours to charge my phone from 1-100.
Note: I am using CMF by Nothing 120w Charger and using the c to c cable provided with mobile
Second thing I noticed is charge drains very quickly and I don’t know how many of them facing but it is not upto the mark.anyone?
Abzee I have the same problems , Low speed charging and battery drain issues
LISTEN GUYS
U can read my previous reviews. I was very frustrated at slow charging speeds so here is what I did
I drained battery to 7%
I slept with phone at charge with cmf 65w GAN charger and when I woke up I found it to be 100% charged.
Time taken to go from 7 to 100 was 1 hr 12 minutes i.e. 72 min for 93 %.
As I was asleep I couldn’t use the phone.
I was shocked that how did it charged.
But I’m happy.
Once again to reconfirm that I’ll repeat the same process after discharging it and I’ll reply to this thread only.
Also POV ..SOT was around 7 hours…I neither gamed nor used Instagram!
I request everyone with the issue just try to charge phone without using it for 1 hour continuously and share the results to this Thread. All the best Guys.
Fortunately I don’t have any battery drain concerns. My battery lasted almost 3 days on one charge last week.
Heyy it has been a very excellent experience using nothing 2a , Basically everythings working smooth , but there is a problem with a battery back up even though I’m not even gaming and using social media apps , it has been around 4 days I had purchased it , as per 5000 MAH battery it could be 7 to 8 hours back up , get help me out .
I’m willing to buy the new nothing phone 2a. And with 45w charger but unfortunately it’s not available so CMF Charger is the last option to buy 65w.
But Nothing phone 2a support upto 45w ..
So what should I do now .
in_ankitdas you can also buy 100W charger. This doesn’t matter.
Sambhrant No I am not using when in charging.
Even today I faced the issue like after using for a day kept my phone when I slept and the charge percentage was 72 but when I look up now that is 6 hours after I saw that charging percentage is 63.I don’t know why it should consume this much charge when in standby.
I have already switched off Ram booster and cleared background process
in_ankitdas bro go for Gan charger.
65 w CMF .. IT'S a one brick that will set everything alright
.
Abzee with internet on it takes 2-4 % and when net is off it takes 2% for 6-7 hour of
sleep. It’s great enough and surely improve EVEN MORE ASAP.

Hi i just bought my nothing phone 2 a through Flipkart and I’ve been using the 45w nothing charger to charge my phone. But i this the 50% in 20 minutes is not possible i just plugged in my phone @1% and it’s already 20 minutes in and the phone is showing 30%. I don’t know if i should try a different charger or cable to test my theory kindly look into this, thank you
There is some issue with the charger optimisation with the 2a. I hope nothing will fix this issue with a new update as I do not feel that this is a hardware issue. There should be an update to optimise the charging speed as I mentioned in my previous posts in this thread that no matter which charger I have tried which includes nothing original 45 watt, cmf for nothing 65 watt, UGreen 45 watt and spigen 70 watt, it takes almost 3 hours to fully charge the phone. Since a lot of people are facing this issue who are using the correct charger and the cable, I hope someone from nothing is reading the posts and will push an update at the earliest.
SushantSinha nothing should better fix that asap before it starts affecting their goodwill of the company. They have built a good reputation and for that to last long they should really step up their game.
