So I ordered a Samsung 25watt pps charger cause everyone on YouTube was saying that it works well with phone 2a. But when I connected my the nothing official cable with the charger and then connected it with my phone, it said charging rapidly. At the same time it disconnected from charging too. Again ot connected and then disconnected. Why this is happening? Is this a compatibility issue cause of previous update or something else.

The phone 2a still chages at 10 watt with other non pd charger without any issue. I used my Samsung 25 watt pd charger with nothing cable to charge a Xiaomi phone and it was charging without any issue at 15-20 watt….

Does anyone else facing this issue? Or I am the only one who is facing this.

I ordered Samsung pd charger to charge my phone fastly but it is not working out for me….

Nothing said that it has optimised the phone 2a charging compatibility with other charger but my phone seems deoptimizsd.

I decided to pay a premium and buy the official Nothing charger from the official website as the OnePlus charger I had was incompatible with the device. Another reason I was convinced to pay almost double the price and buy the Nothing charger was the user feedback in this thread.

Nothing Phone 2a always charges rapidly as advertised, I have never had any problem since then.

Here are a few samples, all tests were executed with screen always off and WiFi always on:

48% - 98% : 35 minutes and 33 seconds

51% - 98% : 35 minutes and 50 seconds

12% - 99% : 50 minutes and 21 seconds

37% - 95% : 33 minutes and 16 seconds

10% - 22% : 4 minutes and 28 seconds

10% - 35% : 11 minutes and 11 seconds

10% - 56% : 21 minutes and 32 seconds

10% - 76% : 31 minutes and 34 seconds

If you can afford to buy the official Nothing charger then I would highly recommend it as it is consistent

georgios1 Bro mine is inconsistent even though I use the official charger. Need to plug and unplug and sometimes the fast charging just suddenly stops and slows the charge.

I’m also facing same issue.

I’m using cmf nothing 65w charger along with the cable provided with phone 2a.

It’s shows 1.5-2hrs for full charge, eventhogh in mobile it’s displays charging rapidly.

The S/W is up to date and new fix didn’t help.

As someone mentioned in above thread,one thing I noticed is when I keep the phone charge in a airconditioned room (21°c) it’s charges quickly within 45mins it will get full charge from 30%.

But if it is kept charging in room temperature 30°c ,it’s shows more than 2hrs

Can I use my Realme 65W SuperDart Charger that I got with Realme X7 Max to charge Nothing Phone(2a)? I don’t know if it supports the PPS protocol. How do I find it out ?

DevAnanth superdart is not compatible with PD, PPS. You’ll notice slower charge times compared to Realme phone. But you don’t have to rush to buy a new charger. It’s safe to use but just slow. Wait till the charging scene with NP 2a matures and then buy a suitable charger.

I tried the techniques mentioned in the forum - unplug and plug in charger, use higher wattage PD chargers. None seem to solve the issue for me. For the screenshot below, I’ve used 65 Watt charger

krishhteja Did you try disabling sleep optimization? It is always disabled for me, never had any issues.

I’m am using an Anker 45w PPS charger and it’s fine since the latest update. I was leaving the phone without using it before to achieve a rapid charge but last night I put it on charge and was force to use it. The rapid charge continues even while is was using it. It went from 8% to 100% in about 50 mins.

siddu2724 but today I charged after latest sw update, and my phone got charger exactly in 1 hr from 10%-100%. But am not sure if the issue is fully resolved or inconsistent. Will update further. Mine is official nothing 45w charger.

Something is very wrong cmf 65W GaN charger is taking very long time to charge the phone 2a.

Totally unacceptable, fix needed ASAP.

16% to 98% in nearly an hour.

I am using a samsung 25 w charger . shows rapidly charging and I think is fast enough. was also working before 2.5.4.a too.

I am following this thread since the day I bought my Nothing Phone 2a and also struggling to find a suitable charger. So here is my experience with different chargers which I tried, hope some of you would find it helpful. I have used Ampere app to measure current flow to the phone.

One Plus Charger 80W SuperVooc - since it runs on a different technology as required by nothing phones, charging speed was way slow. The phone was drawing around 500-600mA of current.
Vivo Flashcharge 44W - better than others, charging time was around 2-2.5hours for 10-90%. Phone was drawing around 1.8-1.9A of current.
10W original iPhone charger - around 500mA of current
An old Vivo charger (one which used to come during type B USB ports) - around 800-900mA
Amazon Basics 45W charger - the best I have found, draws around 5.8-5.9A and charges the phone from 7% - 100% in around 70-75 minutes.

So the best I have found till now is Amazon basics 45W charger. People can try that and confirm if it’s working for them also.

I purchased Nothing Phone 2A, official charger is Out of Stock. I tried below adapters as of now:

1: OnePlus Original 65W charger -> 1 % in 2 minutes. (Charges my 9RT phone 0-100 in 25 minutes)

2: OnePlus Original Dash charger -> 1 % in 2 minutes. (Charges my 6T phone 0-100 in 50 minutes)

3: Samsung Original Charger -> 1 % in 3 minutes. (Charges my Samsung A32 phone 0-100 in 90 minutes)

4: RealMe Original Wasp Charger -> 1 % in 2 minutes. (Charges my RealMe phone 0-100 in 45 minutes)

It only works with my Nothing Original Adapter which I use for my Nothing Phone 2.

Seems all original brand adapters are useless. If it has to be Nothing Charger only then it should be in the box. Very very disappointed with this.

Can anyone suggest why these superfast chargers not able to provide fast charging to Phone 2A????

mohammadfarooque That’s because all those charges (I’m not sure about Samsung A32) are incompatible with the charging protocols supported by nothing 2a. In theory, any compatible (PD, PPS fast charger) third party charger should work with the 2a. The ones you listed aren’t compatible.

JeffiEdward just check with multiple occasions . Sometimes it’s behaving inconsistent in charging time

mohammadfarooque that depends on your geographic region. Samsung 25W fast charger is a safe bet. The charger is reliable and gets the job done. For full rating you’ve got original Nothing 45W charger, CMF 65W GaN adapter, Anker 45W PD, Anker 65W GaN, etc. Lot depends on your geographic region and budget.
