Navigation Back and keyboard sound

Morning guys, I am not able to silence the back button during the navigation and keyboard sounds on my Nothing 2a. I have tried to set the silence profile but when I go back or tap into the keyboard the sound is still active. I tried to look into settings but I did not find anything. Can someone please help?

I am not sure about the Phone 2a as I use the Phone 2 but try the following things:

Go to Settings > Sound and vibration > Vibration and turn off “Touch feedback”. This should turn off the navigation sounds.
As for the keyboard, if you’re using Gboard, then click on the settings icon in the keyboard (if settings icon is not visible then click on the four squares inside the circle at the top left corner of the keyboard). Then go to Preferences and disable “Sound on keypress”.

There might be some difference between the Phone 2a and Phone 2, so I can’t say for sure if it will work or not.

Hello Rivan, thanks for the help.

I tried your suggestion and disabling the touch feedback the navigation sound and feedback become muted. So that works.

However my expectations was that changing the sound profile to ‘silence’ affects all system sounds, also the navigation sounds.

Regarding the keyboard sounds, only disabling completely touch feedback on Gboard remove also the sounds.

@kerberos_ I don’t think the navigation sounds turn off when you silence the phone. However, there is an option to disable these sounds when in “Do Not Disturb” mode. It can be found under Settings > Sound and vibration > Do Not Disturb > Alarms and other interruptions > Touch sounds.

I went through same confusion tysm @Rivan for the help.

I wish nothing os should automatically put the haptics off if I switch to silent mode and dnd mode.

As the only way to stop haptics now is (back button, keyboard) is to go to settings.. sound and vibration…touch feedback.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

This sweet gesture will definitely be appreciated by users.
