This is an idea that might be good to introduce in the Glyph Interface for the notifications.
Right now, we have the chance to use a specific ringtone for each of our contacts. I was hoping that something similar could be done for the notifications. When that light turns on I am afraid that I lack information to know who is sending me that message, and that kills for me the purpose of having the phone face down.

This is an idea on how to attack this issue, and hopefully you will get the concept.
Let’s start by dividing the different lights in groups using the current NP2 simple glyph layout. So we have group 1, 2, 3… until 11.
Right now, when we set a notification sound it is the same for all of our apps and contacts. Imagine we could assign a different sound to each one of those 11 groups.
With this in mind, let’s think about being able to assign specific contacts or apps to each of those groups, keeping the lights on if some notification from certain group came in.
So in the image attached, we have three different examples with the groups set as follows:
Group #3 - In this group I assigned my friend @SebiAi whatsapp and my friend Christian Löffler Telegram, so if any of those send me a message, this will sound and stay on.
Group #6 - This group is reserved for one of the woman of my live, my boss whatsapp.
Group #8 - On this one I set it just for the work email.
Group #10 - This one is for the wife whatsapp, telegram, sms… All except the Instagram, a lot of memes there.

So when I am at work, and I see the first image, I know that I want to take a pause anytime soon to see what any of those two people have to say to me, because we are making a music project together and we are planning to play around with the Glyph interface.
After some time, the second image happens, and well, I am doing very well at work, so if I wait a little bit to answer her, nothing bad will happen.
Last, the third image happens with both notifications happening almost at the same time. I received a mail from work, which can waits, but also the wife wants something… So I better rush my visit to the toilet now to see if I am in trouble for something I did.

I think this can be done keeping the brief blinking for light 11 at the beginning, but then keeping the different groups on.
It would be a huge improvement for me, and i am guessing for many more control freaks like me 🙂
