Nothing Phone (2a) - Camera Feedback

I hope nothing will be working on improving the camera algorithm for the upcoming phones then they can import those algorithm for the old phones to improve the camera performance

The consistency is lacking in nothing phone sometimes it takes decent photos while the other time misses the mark.

While shooting against the sun when you click on the subject it brightens the entire frame and hdr struggling to expose the picture correctly it giving blooming effect of hdr in both front and rear cameras.

Few modes to include

1. Dedicated night mode
2. Bokeh filters like in vivo phones
3. Dual exposure like pixel

Nothing 2a has some issues with wide angle camera. The video and photo goes blur at wide angle mode. Software is up to date then also the same issue after every update.

Rear cam HDR works fine. however when the front cam HDR is enabled it makes faces and skin tone haze and blackish. I request Nothing team to implement the rear camera like HDR processing in the front cam as well. If you do it, then I don’t think any mobile camera cam compete with nothing in the segment.

Will the nothing phone 2a will get the same camera processing algorithms within the 3.1 os update I think it will improve the performance of the camera since we can see in the review of 3a the hdr tuning is being appreciated hope the phone 2a will get the tune lens processing algorithms for the camera

ALSO still we havent received the Feb security patch will it be included with the 3.1 os update

I am using the NP2a since 6-7 months ,the way your company hyped the phone for camera and the result we are getting is not even comparable…

The camera of the phone is still not good in the OS 3.0 update of NP2a,the way the company is ignoring the most common problem is not good,I don’t understand why the phone overprocess the image in HDR mode ,where cheap budget phone lead a better result in HDR mode ,

I request the team to please look into this problem and solve it in upcoming updates ..

Discussion Title: Camera Optimization Needed for Nothing Phone 2a

Hey everyone,

I’ve been using the Nothing Phone 2a for a while now, and while the camera performs decently, I’ve noticed that it often clicks dull photos, especially in normal mode. Skin tones appear darker than natural, and overall colors sometimes lack vibrancy. Interestingly, switching to portrait mode improves the results slightly, but it still needs better tuning.

I believe software optimization can significantly enhance the camera output. For reference, I used GCam on my Moto One Power (which had just a 16MP sensor), and the difference was huge—thanks to great processing and tuning. If a similar level of optimization is applied here, the 2a’s camera could perform much better.

Has anyone else noticed these issues? Hoping Nothing addresses this in future updates! Would love to hear your thoughts.
