How to disable System update

Hi, not entirely sure that’s possible on Nothing phones, but try disabling “automatic system updates” in developer options. This, in theory, should prevent the update from being installed when the phone reboots

2.5.4 downloaded automatically & i dont want it to install so i switched off the thing that you mentioned in developer options yet it installed the update sadly…

ShanmugamKs Ah, okay… So that clearly don’t work. Why were you reluctant to install that update if I may ask? I am using that update for about a week now, it’s working fine for me so far.

Stringfellow_hawke i found 2.5.3 is more stable.. 2.5.4 battery is draining gradually in idle even with AOD disabled .

ShanmugamKs Have you given it enough time to let the system optimise itself again? If you charge the phone to 100% and leave it idle, without using it, on the charger for an extra 2 - 3 hours, those background optimisations will be done, and this can help with battery drain.

Then may be I’ll wait for 48 more hours !!.. but someone find a solution to stop this compulsory update thing!!… My inner fear is that when new phone comes out the images are great but in updates most of the phone company degrade them with software updates this was the case with with my oneplus5. Working solid till date but had to use Gcam for original results!.. I mean original because it’s takes picture how it used to in 2017

ShanmugamKs Yes, had a similar experience with my OnePlus 7t Pro back on the day. Picture quality was still good when it reached end of life, but it was better when it first launched. That’s the thing with updates, even though they are supposed to make things better, that isn’t always the case. But from what I saw and read in reviews of the Phone (2), Nothing did improve those cameras quite a bit with updates, so let’s hope they will do it for our Phone (2a) too.
