I’m not sure what the Nothing OS icons will be like, but I think it should have an important customization category. At the end of the day, what makes a unique phone is the way in which the user experiences and personalizes it to their liking. I have tried launchers where you can choose to put the icons in the form of circles or squares with rounded corners like those of Samsung that I personally really like their form factor. I believe that having the ability to choose how they will look is something that adds an extra to the ecosystem.
But what if Nothing’s own apps had an animation? I am referring to the applications that will be like the recorder or calculator or the future apps that Nothing develops. Let’s say, every time you enter the toolbox or if you slide the screen, for example, in the calculator some symbols of + - or performing some operation appear, or even in the recorder that an lp appears turning constantly, having the option of power disable the animations but I think it would be a very cool thing. I understand that the Instagram icon would be very complicated if it had an animation. But an animation could be developed that surrounds the application itself with some color to know that we have a notification. Instead of putting a number up in a corner
I used my own screen for the image, it’s crappy the way I’ve done it but I think you can understand. For example, in many notification systems, the number of notifications appears next to the app icon and personally I find that very abusive and overwhelming. I think it’s important to know that you have a message but not the number. That’s why on Instagram when you receive a notification, a circle appears around the icon to know that you have a message. It seems simple and aesthetic to me. And you could put an animation there, for example, of a circle changing color when receiving it but then staying a static color. A color that you can choose, put several colors or to the user’s taste.
What do you think about it?
