The RAM Boost feature is, as its name suggests, a way to boost your RAM.
It does this by using some of your storage capacity and allocates these resources to your RAM usage. Therefore, if you find that you are maxing out your 12GB of RAM, frequently, using the RAM Boost could increase that allotment, allowing tasks to run smoother.
However, based on your use case, as put in your message, I think 12GB of RAM shall be more than enough for you, and there shouldn’t be any losses to performance if you turn this feature off. 🙂
