Anonymous142 But having the (a) just seems honestly a rehash of what is there already.

Exactly

nikhil.edit'z Excited for Nothing’s most impressive audio product & let’s see what it is beyond the numbers.

M1st Truly excited for these buds! I can’t wait for the Audiophile ones!

I share an interest, but being excited of just another audio product we’ve seen potentially hundreds of thousands of? 🥱..

Chirag Passi I anticipated that Nothing Ear (a) would be half-in-ear style buds with an aggressive price point to appeal to the masses. This would provide me with a great audio companion for my Nothing Phone 2(a). 🐞 🐸

As I read along your note I thought of they potentially “just” making the stick´s successor to the (a) and commence to omit the numbers on the successor of the Ear (2).. 🧐

I hope atleast one of them is like the OG Airpods or Ear (Stick) without the rubber tips for those who hate rubber tips and air tight ears!

I’m personally not sure how I feel about the new naming scheme. I think I understand what they’re going for, being already quite high quality earbuds.

I’m not sure if I understand what they’re doing, if they’re going to upgrade their audio lineup every 3-5 years. I doubt the batteries will be replacable or easily repairable by a general consumer or even Nothing themselves.

And when my buds do die, or degrade and I look to upgrade I don’t want to buy the same product, I want an upgrade. Maybe i’m being a little silly, but when I look to buy after my previous product has been worn out I expect that I’d get an improved model.

Could be what they’ll do, slightly upgrade over that period of time until a new major hardware bump (but that doesn’t sound very logical from a business and cost of manufacturing standpoint)

I’d like to hear what people think.

I have used both the ear(1) and (2) and still using the ear (2)..can’t wait to get my hands on these ones 😁😁

CarbonatedMocha I doubt the batteries will be replacable or easily repairable by a general consumer or even Nothing themselves.

That would be a real innovation, though. EarPod batteries which are replaceable. As a long time Airpod User I´m aware this is the most eminent caveat about cordless headphones.. Carrying future e-waste.

I think it’s fantastic that the generations fall away if that helps diminish the compulsion to upgrade. I think this is a shame in today’s tech market. I just fear that it will be difficult to refer to a past earbud generation. You could put the launch year behind the earbud, but then you’re just making it very difficult. So I’m wondering what you guys plan to do with this?

Akis Cool, but why didnt you guys apply the striping back the numbers thing to the number. series

      Nothing phone a anyone?

[deleted] I’m glad to hear the airpod batteries are replaceable. I hope Nothing will be able to commit to parts for shops and experienced consumers so that everyone can extend the life of their products. But then again, the phone series only gets 4 years of security updates. You might as well trade in and just continue getting a new phone every 4 years rather than getting a new battery. I can see the appeal for replaceable batteries for devices like the CMF Watch, and Ear/Buds series of devices which people are more likely to use for 4+ years.

A reason why I like the Fairphone in particular, long term support for software + parts.

Akis Personally, ill definitely check out the Nothing Ear, I think the Ear (a) is a downgraded version of the (2), but I can never be too sure. I think the Nothing Ear might be a headset.

Akis NOW PLS RENAME THE PHONE SERIES TO “GLYPH” as in Glyph(2), Glyph(2a) and so on. It can be as iconic as Galaxy and Pixel!!

CarbonatedMocha Ahh, you got me partially wrong. The AirPods batteries are NOT replaceable by design. That´s why I´m unwillingly unpleased with them, knowing having to dump them after a couple of years.

I´m totally with you regarding security updates. Not everything should be regulated, but I think that, for example, EU specifications should also be made for security updates, e.g. for a minimum of 10 years. Like some EU requirements for the repairability of appliances.

Worst nothing phone 2 makers making another worst device?

[deleted] I feel like that would be difficult for phones because companies like Samsung and Xiaomi release so many new models (per year). I bet that would severely cut down on how many models they bring out (cutting models entirely or releasing every 2 years, again not logical for a company like them).

It’s a lot more important for devices like phones than earbuds, unless they start connecting to the internet 😛.

AllamTharun I’ve checked your profile and you keep saying this - at least say your actual thoughts on why it is “worst” and what they could improve on 🤷🏻

Akis ANCHORED ON THESE KEY WORDS: designed for meticulous audiophiles.
