CarbonatedMocha I doubt the batteries will be replacable or easily repairable by a general consumer or even Nothing themselves.
That would be a real innovation, though. EarPod batteries which are replaceable. As a long time Airpod User I´m aware this is the most eminent caveat about cordless headphones.. Carrying future e-waste.
Akis Wond(ear)ful
I think it’s fantastic that the generations fall away if that helps diminish the compulsion to upgrade. I think this is a shame in today’s tech market. I just fear that it will be difficult to refer to a past earbud generation. You could put the launch year behind the earbud, but then you’re just making it very difficult. So I’m wondering what you guys plan to do with this?
[deleted] I’m glad to hear the airpod batteries are replaceable. I hope Nothing will be able to commit to parts for shops and experienced consumers so that everyone can extend the life of their products. But then again, the phone series only gets 4 years of security updates. You might as well trade in and just continue getting a new phone every 4 years rather than getting a new battery. I can see the appeal for replaceable batteries for devices like the CMF Watch, and Ear/Buds series of devices which people are more likely to use for 4+ years.
A reason why I like the Fairphone in particular, long term support for software + parts.
Akis something awesome is cooking!
CarbonatedMocha Ahh, you got me partially wrong. The AirPods batteries are NOT replaceable by design. That´s why I´m unwillingly unpleased with them, knowing having to dump them after a couple of years.
I´m totally with you regarding security updates. Not everything should be regulated, but I think that, for example, EU specifications should also be made for security updates, e.g. for a minimum of 10 years. Like some EU requirements for the repairability of appliances.
Worst nothing phone 2 makers making another worst device?
[deleted] I feel like that would be difficult for phones because companies like Samsung and Xiaomi release so many new models (per year). I bet that would severely cut down on how many models they bring out (cutting models entirely or releasing every 2 years, again not logical for a company like them).
It’s a lot more important for devices like phones than earbuds, unless they start connecting to the internet .
AllamTharun I’ve checked your profile and you keep saying this - at least say your actual thoughts on why it is “worst” and what they could improve on
Akis ANCHORED ON THESE KEY WORDS: designed for meticulous audiophiles.
roman1 are you a nothing phone 2 user?
AllamTharun yeah since launch
Akis was planning to get ear 2,but better to wait now
Looking forward to this one.
Juicy ! Excited about this new release, 2a is an incredible value for the price. Really interested to see if ear (a) will be on the same journey !
Akis Superb and best wishes to the entire creative team
