Screen burn-in - Phone (2a)

I was really happy with the Nothing Phone 2a and have been telling everyone around me how great this phone is.

Sadly, I just found out that there is a screen burn at the top left corner of the screen where the AOD clock sits.

The burn-in mark shows 11:2X, so I guess it happened in less than 10 minutes. I don’t know what caused it or if it’s the screen hardware issue.

I am unhappy this happened to my phone, and I’ve never seen this issue before from any of my other previous phones.

Is anyone else experiencing the burn-in issue?

HyunSikWoo I noticed that i have a very slight burn due to navigation gesture bar at the bottom of my screen which is not easily visible but still can be seen if you look carefully.

I’ve also had this issue for a while now and for me it’s the phone status bar and the navigation bar and also at times I see the status bar of Instagram also… I’ve visited the service centre and got my phone 2a serviced also and still the issue hasn’t been resolved… please lmk if your issue has been solved and how did you do it?!

Daniel not only this…but also the navigation bar line will cause permanent burn issue…please give an option to hide this navigation bar line.

I have the same problem on phone 1. They install very cheap matrices, so they burn out in just a week.

I also checked now on my 1 month old 2a and the status bar at the top is slightly burned in. I use the phone on auto brightness…

A MOLED drawbacks . but yes screen burn in a month old phone is concerning .

same issue with my phone but when i enable night mode on extra dim then i see screen burning issue on black background like notification bar or app fingerprint unlock background,but only in night.

ghumnewala How?? Man greent tint and screen burn in is the most talked about and most common issue on the 2a series. Just search for screen burn issue nothing phone 2a on the Nothing sub reddit

I got mine burning after a week, and I am not setting brightness to max, just a regular adaptive brightness.. How know what will happen in couple of months 😅

I too have noticed this screen burn in because of AOD. Especially if the AOD is too bright when the phone is exposed to sunlight for example. Nothing should keep AOD moving a bit and may be provide an option to adjust AOD brightness to be able to make it dimmer.

I also have the same issue, my navigation bar is burned in permanently. Its been only 4 days i purchased this device, please nothing fix this by any means
