Hey Nothing Community, first and foremost I’m very much happy to be a part of this community, ever since I’ve tried out the previous Nothing phones/ears and is currently using the 2a, I’ve been nothing but happy after ditching my iPhone.
So this then brings me to my current predicament with the Nothing Phone (2a).
Disclaimer, this isn’t a rant or anything, this is literally just me being curious as it seems there is some kind of a bug or software issue with the display on the Nothing phone 2a.
I currently have 2 units, one in black and the milk color variant, and both show the same symptoms, again not sure if this is indeed a “symptom” but as soon as I noticed it, it is quite hard to unsee.
Example A:
From this image, you can see that the image on the right (unlocked/homescreen) there is a slight glare or what most people called screen bleed with other smartphones released in the past, in contrast to the image on the left (lockscreen) to which both are held with the same angle, yet no visible artifacts.
I also noticed that that “bug” appears to be connected with the lockscreen animation wherein it leaves a residual element from the lockscreen animation towards the top, see next image below, wherein I have Instagram opened and no actual residuals from the lock screen animation are visible on the top.
Also worth mentioning, when I first purchased these Nothing phones, I opted to just use the default pre-installed wallpapers and didn’t see any issues whatsoever, I noticed this when I started using 3rd party wallpapers regardless of the resolution of the said wallpaper, that residual element is present, but with Nothing’s pre-installed wallpapers it is nowhere to be seen.
Requesting assistance or clarity on this.
