📱 Phone (2a) - Nothing OS 2.5.5 Changelog
After seeing so many comments, it seems it’s just a eye wash update.
First and foremost remove Google dialler, contacts, messages etc…it’s look like 30% Nothing and 70% Google.. am I using Google phone or so called Nothing phone?
It’s being a big problem for majority of users
Hype was very nice but after buying I realised that it’s a plastic body with cheap material built of ,interface, features and many more
For Nothing this phone (2a) was very profitable because they looted buyers by claiming fake features
ShaikRehan no. Google app are working fine. So they have to be used.

ShaikRehan I beg to differ on two points:
1. I believe having Google softwares are the best option as Google comes up with the latest features. If you search the net you will see Google is making features like Magic Eraser and some other AI features completely free in Google Photos and also in Google dialer you can find truecaller like features also after latest update. So what is the point of having Nothing Apps which will do the same thing but will take more storage space.
2. I am a supporter of plastic body in lower budget phones because the phone does`nt heat up that easily. Also it is pretty durable than other Chinese phones like POCO,Redmi and Realme in the same budget.
For people asking what changes this update did for the camera ,these are the thing I noticed:
1. Lens Glare fixed in UltraWide lens and image processing time is reduced and edge detection has been improved a lot.
2. UI and animations are smooth like butter.
3. Color Consistency between UltraWide and Primary Lens is fixed.
4. Over Exposure of image with human subject is still there. Why ?Just Why you do this Nothing?
5. UltraWide image is lacking clarity post zoom. It is 50 MP UltraWide lens.Nothing can definitely do better.
6. Sometimes I see a strange bluish green shadow around strong light source in HDR and Ultra HDR. What is up with that?Light source processing is better now btw.
7. Slight reddish tone in Front Camera but that is fine I guess.
Btw @Firmware (bot) what the hell did you do with the latest update? Previously there was no lag in YouTube 4K video playback. After this update, it is having so many frame drops? Are you fixing some things and ruining the others just because 4K Video frame drops is normal in phones like Motorola Edge 50 pro and Oneplus Nord CE 4?
Darn was hoping they finally added the option to hide the gesture bar with this update. Guess the waiting continues :-(
I haven’t received any updates yet, I’m still on the old version.

Rajdeep13 True…somehow photos taken with night mode off is better than night mode on.
Well some issues of the camera like lens glare and color inconsistency between lenses are fixed.
But whats with the issue with 4K HDR playback in YouTube.Previously it was smooth but now there is considerable stutters and frame drops
Firmware (bot) Disappointed, but did not see improvement in camera section even taking more time to process image after click. Image color also much softer side after update 2.5.5. previous color processing was ok. Focus process has slowed. Jittering between lense switch.
Need to recheck and roll out a new update to fix camera. Thanks “team Nothing” for your continuous efforts!
My lord, such whining trolls here. Give them a break, rather than providing constructive feedback for a fix why such entitlement.

The cameras were good. Now all the details are gone. The photo is so exposed and it just looks so bad. The camera was good. Now it’s bad.
After 2.5.5 update, phone 2a lagging a lot, 4k 60fps video not playing smoothly like before, very bad experience with nothing, regretting after buying it, after updating improvement should be there, instead it becomes very slow, recommend not to buy nothing phone 2a 
TheSensibleOne I am yet to receive the update, is the image processing speed improved now?
