Cheetosdust I think that scenario will arrive inevitably, but I believe it’s way too early for that. I love this approach of adding new members in batches - it creates a tight-knit group of people.

I totally agree, I have always been a little late in joining other tech forums and I’m often overwhelmed at just how busy they can be. It’s impossible to keep up, and you mostly feel like you’re talking to strangers rather than friends/acquaintances. Bringing in new people with fresh thoughts and opinions regularly would be a good thing, but I’d hate to lose that tight-knit feel.

Rob ⚡️ Yep, and it is a unique feeling to be here since the very beginning - you even more as an Investor.

I believe - or hope - the feeling of bonding won’t go away. It depends on the vision the company has for its Community and on regular members. And so far, both are very promising, conceptually and in their execution.

About the app, well, a new update was just released. 🤓

      Cheetosdust

Yeah, I agree, I’m grateful that I was able to be here from the start!

As you say, it’s promising that establishing a community was a priority for Nothing, even before a product has been launched! It shows the value that Carl and the team place in hearing directly from its fans/users.

Ah, good news on the update! Looks like the typos are fixed!

Looks like the app was not intended to be released. Cant see it now on play store. But still in my downloaded apps. Mostly it is now accessible through link.

Gald to see the typo correction 🙂

Rob ⚡️ I have always been a little late in joining other tech forums and I’m often overwhelmed at just how busy they can be. It’s impossible to keep up, and you mostly feel like you’re talking to strangers rather than friends/acquaintances.

EXACTLY. I am so happy I am finally among the firsts of a community like this. Honestly, at the moment nothing.community feels like a small family to me. I know many of the more active users like @Cheetosdust, @[deleted], @Sayan_Dutta, and You Rob ⚡️ just to name a few. And I’m kind of ‘getting you guys know’ more and more from your styles of writing, the use of emojis, and just in general from the clues and characteristics you left in the snippets of comments you make here.

Adding new members is a great and needed way of expanding the community and meeting new faces, I totally support that, but the number of new comers shouldn’t be too high as that would ruin this whole family-feeling, which I would hate to loose.

This reply is also a bit of an appreciation for every single person in this community. Everyone is kind, curious and talkative. I love you guys. Cheers!

RUTHVIK I believe they will receive the same access as the members who have the tag “Community Member” right now.

It makes sense that “Investors” have a section dedicated to discuss anything related with that matter and, in the future, perhaps some private sections for the “Moderators”, etc.

But only the Nothing team knows that for sure. 😃

Dominic Oh Dominic, that’s such a beautiful message and one that echoes perfectly my feelings since I’ve joined these forums. 😊

I feel like every single one of the people you tagged - among others - adds something to this community and that is something truly inspiring.

A thread or a message doesn’t live in a vacuum, and the action/reaction sequence in any of these threads never ceases to amaze me.

I have nothing (no pun intended this time 😅) but respect and admiration for every member with whom I share this awesome digital space with. And with members like you guys, I know this feeling will prevail and get stronger. 😎

            Dominic

Very kind words! I love opening up the Community page to see one of the regulars has replied to me. I also don’t have any friends in real life that tolerate me talking about tech 😆 so it’s great to feel like I’ve found my people. It’s great that we’ve had this time to chat and speculate before the launch tomorrow, after which, there will be an actual product to discuss!

            Dominic

Gracias, Dominic! You spoke my heart out. We must let in more Quality Tech People like Cheetosdust in this community who adds immense value to this community, and can actively contribute in product development down the line in future.

Cheetosdust, @scarbo, @Rob ⚡️, Dominic, @[deleted], @youbi -You guys are my absolute favorites. Its great to have the opportunity to interact with you guys! Cheers, God bless all.

            Dominic what a delightful message!

Lately, I’ve been pretty busy, I don’t always manage to jot down an articulated comment. But I never miss a message of yours, guys, you really are the soul of this (chip-powered but transparent-like) place 🙂

BaltzarMattssonRimhagen I believe the app was temporarily pushed before time - if I click the link @Rob ⚡️ shared, it’s also not available when I use an account that doesn’t have it installed already. So I don’t think the cause is geolocation.

I don’t know when it’s going to be available, but since it was mentioned during the official presentation, it needs to be launched when the first units of the ear (1) start reaching the customers.

The message I am getting is “This app is not available for any of your devices”.

The app just got another update this morning. It’s now the version 1.0.4 and you can see the changelog in the screenshot shared above.

I don’t know if it’s going to be updated again before the first retail units start to arrive to consumers, but so far it’s undeniable that Nothing truly is working behind the scenes to iron out bugs.

Hopefully, this also fixes some of the complaints some YouTubers and reviewers mentioned when the embargo was lifted yesterday.

                Cheetosdust

Just downloaded this myself, enjoying the new app icon colour 😄

And yes, its promising to see regular updates at this stage - I think the Tom’s Guide review posted yesterday made an excellent point:

“…something else we seldom get to see: a quality 1st-gen product from a brand new company.”

If this were any other tech startup, perhaps we would have tempered our expectations for timely updates and improvements; but the combined experience of the Nothing team is really shining through with ear (1). This isn’t a half-baked product by any means!

Another detail I just noticed with this new version is that you can use your Community credentials to log in - you can even jump from the app to the forums if you want to edit your profile.

Before, whenever I tried to start a session in the app with my email address, it just said it could not be retrieved.

                    Rob ⚡️

The Tom’s Guide review was pretty impressive for Nothing in my opinion. I was partially expecting the majority of reviews to have a more negative sentiment than they had considering the anticipation that was built up, but as you quoted it was a bit exciting to see that not only the ear (1) but also Nothing as a whole is receiving some well-deserved praise.

I think I can safely speak for all the community members in saying that we want to see Nothing succeed, and I for one think they have set off on solid ground with the brand, product, and app launch which holds a lot of potential in future iterations.

                      SteveW

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I was slightly nervous about the review embargo ending yesterday… As you say, we want Nothing to succeed - I didn’t want to see them stumble at the first hurdle!

Thankfully, I was able to let out an audible sigh of relief after watching almost every review on YouTube 😆.
