J_n same goes with me. We have paid more the phone 2a but still we are inferior in software department also features like optimal battery charging limit is not available to us. But even cmf phone has it.
I’m regretting to not to go with samsung flagship.
Human image processing is bad in this update. I just cant use phone 2 camera anymore. Feeling disheartened.

I just found out about this topic, and I’m surprised to find that Phone(2) has so many issues on the photo part.
As I’m looking to by one, I’m now considering it as photo is very important for me.
i_Ramalama I don’t know if your trolling but respecfully
a phone that came out in 2024 is going to have better haptics and other improved features(2@) than a phone that can out a year ago 2023(phone 2)
However The phone 2 is premium
Quality and performance are achieved in this product
I have both. And the Phone 2 is clearly the better phone in every way. Not sure why you think the 2A has better haptics, I think the Phone 2 has much better haptics. And the camera is clearly better on the 2. But I guess to each there own…..
we’re measuring “Flagship” by the haptic feel?
There are a lot other features to make it flagship. Starting by it’s components. I didn’t test the 2a, so I can’t compare, but I managed to not take my SLR camera from it’s bag on a weekend vacation with the family. I took all photos with my NP2, and yes, some photos, in very hard conditions to process, came out over processed (ex: photos of people with the camera facing the sun, people came out over bright to compensate) but other than that, no complaints.
Taking into account what a NP2 costs when compare to other brands flagships… No complaints here.
Exactly, I got the NP2 512GB brand new for $400, no other phone with these specs comes close to that….
KarlKeppler thanks for your feedback.
I’m surprised, I thought both phone have the same 50mp sensor, they don not?
Ergonomuix No, NP2 has Sony IMX890 sensor while NP2a has Samsung ISOCELL GN9, the ultra-wide lens is the same from samsung.

vovan-v Thanks, What about the NP2aP ?
- (Edited)
Ergonomuix NP2aP came with the same sensors only the selfie camera is from samsung on NP2aP 50 megapixels and on NP2a from Sony 32 megapixels.
vovan-v thanks
vovan-v to be very honest the true to life color and focus was miles apart on the NP2a even with a 32MP on the front cam. The NP2aP has some kind of focus issue with selfies (which is really super annoying, when you sell a product as an upgraded version of the NP2a). I hope that it gets covered through update but I’m not entirely sure. I personally feel they severely missed something when going for the Samsung censor for the selfie cam on the NP2aP.

@Remi F @i_Ramalama According to me I am a huge fan of nothing phone and nothing is bringing improvements thanks to the team on this part . But as a user we will definitely compare a flagship phone with a normal phone. To be Frank when we users compare a nothing flagship and non flagship phone softwarewise we don’t feel much of a difference. As an insider could you please tell me the main software differences between both nothing phone 2 and phone 2a. We users are expecting more from a flagship device.

It is my first device with an Android system, previously IOS, and analyzing the Nothing Phone 2, it is very solid for everyday use, the camera is average but my use is not for photos, the screen is bad, very little brightness and greenish tints in the dark, The lack of support in esim today is essential for me and it bothers me not to have the updates on time but it is something that I have to get used to, this is Android.
immanuelsamc you know the number of megapixels is telling nothing at all, the sensor and software it’s really what matters(like in google pixel devices) 12 mega pixel can do amazing photos there much better that on nothing phones till our days.
I recommend you to download GCAM and check how the camera works there.
Hope for you that the software updates will fix it.
