After 2.5.5 for the first time my device is heating while playing games like efootball2024 and COD Warzone.

Same settings as the OP,

15 Threads and ran for 15 mins

Room Temp - 23°C

I am getting a better result but the thing is that I am still on 2.0.4 which to many people downgraded the performance to increase battery life.

The performance was already somewhat stable but around 5 mins it started clocking like crazy for unknown reasons then again settled after some mins. The max temp I noted was 44°C.

Battery drain - 3%

I do live in a humid and warm area with around 30 degrees at all times during the night so I am honestly surprised.

That’s some people not taking into account when complaining about heating, throttling or slower charging: ambient temperature.

Many similar reports come from users in India, and summer in India is really hot. Heat affects the performance of the device (when detecting high temperature, it will throttle the chipset, and heat also has a damaging effect on batteries).

Jean You are absolutely right mate. The summer are really going to leave you burned to a crisp here, let alone these small devices.

People complain here but they forget the most basic and important things like taking the case off before testing, High Room Temps, Not preparing right testing environment. People should really think before posting on this community.

even so the processor is downclocked compared to rest of the 8+ gen 1 mobile phones, even with a room temperature of 23 degrees its throttling a lot, this is not acceptable.

No offence, but kind of surpised to hear that NP2 was chosen as a phone for gamers 🤦
While there are other specifically designed products for that use case.
Can’t imagine a single app on my phone that requires 10min of max performance 🤷

Username_Error Compared to the rest of the phones available on the market atleast in my country, the phone 2 has a clean os and even they mention gaming as an application of the phone. Why would anyone choose something with lots of bloatware over this?

I guess there are special game phones with vapor chambers. Those are designed for gaming. For example OnePlus 12.

Same here and people telling that in India temperature is always 40+ it’s not everywhere, And where i live it’s almost 35-36 outdoors but in indoors it’s 30°C still it heats a lot was just playing F1 mobile not that graphic intensive game still it got 39°C and if you are telling me that 30°C is also too hot then at night 27-28°C still it got hot like 38 now what? ,And Sometimes even if i am browsing youtube or Twitter it gets hot . They have to optimise it it’s their responsibility I’m fed from 2-3 months because of it’s heating.

Username_Error gaming performance was very good prior to 2.5.5. It never overheated or dropped frames while playing games. A couple weeks back I visited service centre for screen issue and the flashed the software and switched it to 2.5.3. Again my gaming performance was back to normal. After a couple of days I updated it back to 2.5.5 🤡 and overheating/frame drops came back with a bang!

MadOne 😭😭 when are they gonna fix it neither i am getting good battery life and my phone heats up in normal tasks too.

Sorry to hear that. In this case, it feels like actual support focus moved to 2a. And 2 is no more a priority device.

HOWARDNIKHIL_TechWizard_ The Stock OS throttles as soon as temps reach around 36-38 C. For Indian conditions its a bit extreme for occassional higher temperatures reached. You would find your unit performing better in cooler ambient temps. I would suggest to stop bothering about benchmarks and use your device to the fullest. If you bought this for gaming, you might wanna reconsider or root your device to improve the thermal limits to prevent throttling. Rest i do agree that the brand can always improve it in stock state. But higher throttling temps will take a hit on the battery life, and probably the software team is focusing on that more. Keep your feedbacks going through settings > system > feedback though.

I was using it in an A.c room still it heated a lot. And was playing a game at low graphics still it was going 40°C room temperature was around 30°C
