I am a user of nothing phone 2. I wanna Start from the start when it was announced that nothing is launching the phone 1 i was excited the hype was real and how they optimised the phone brilliantly was the best thing ever in tech industry the phone got better, I recommended to few people, And Carl pei told they will not be launching phone 2 and will further optimise the phone 1 that was really good. They had limited products and made it better with new generation launches. That was what all the tech community wanted that they listen to the consumer’s and not launch ton of phones or devices. After one year was really impressed with the brand and then they launched the successor phone 2 it was a good phone but had some areas of major improvement’s . I bought it in November thought they will optimise it as they did for phone 1 but no i was wrong it’s almost 10 months since the launch still no major improvements and some things have gotten worse and now they are launching just new products not focusing on the existing ones i thought that they wouldn’t be that company that just wants to make money but now after so many launches and their upcoming as per rumours new phones it’s not going good as i expected they have sub brands 3 phones and more products. I really think they shouldn’t launch any phone for now and optimise all their phone line-up as they did to the phone 1 and then launch new phones . If their current users are satisfied they already have a huge amount of people recommending it to other people. I just want so say that if possible launch limited products but good product’s .“ It’s about the quality and not about the quantity you deliver” . It’s a humble request from my side to kindly optimise the current phones and take feedback from users a lot needs to be done . If they Continue the legacy they created with their first porducts they are definitely gonna be successful.

Thankyou!

    Anonymous still no major improvements

Just want to guide your attention to this graph, which very clearly displays the updates that all the phones have received since launch.

As you can see, Nothing are still focussing a lot of their attention on improving and optimising this (and other) devices, with the most recent update including a lot of new improvements, features and optimisations which you can read more about here.

I know there have been many updates to the phones and yeah no company is doing like that but still it’s not as good as we are expecting it to be, The improvement in camera’s, efficiency and performance is still very behind i bought this phone as i had trust it will get optimised as the phone 1 did so yeah! Still no major improvements just feature drops which is not more necessary than optimisation.

Anonymous171 But it’s really not about the features it’s about focusing on limited devices and making it better. That’s what i think everyone wants.

Forgive me, you mentioned a lot of need for optimisation and improvements, but you don’t state what you feel needs to be improved?

I have been very happy with the frequency and content of updates my Phone (2) has received since launch. This gives me confidence it shall be the case until it’s 3 years of software updates comes to its end. I have had no evidence to be persuaded otherwise.

The problems right?, Camera isn’t that great. Phones is heating. Battery doesn’t last that long and the ideal drain is more and the software still isn’t as refined and smooth as it needs to be. Probably you are satisfied with the camera but it’s not that good and no i don’t have a defective unit others are facing it too a lot of post discussion’s are present on the community. Few people are having a great experience but others are not , why? . All phones are running on same software.

Anonymous171 most companies (in this industry) have over 10+ years of experience, R&D and extensive numbers of staff members. Nothing is only just over 3.5 years old so expectations should be considered there.

Anonymous - Noted. I have never found issues with the camera, sure it isn’t as elite as iPhone, or Google or Samsung, as they have more expensive phones and more years of R&D thrown in. But the dual 50MP cameras have very rarely let me down.

I don’t have heat issues on my unit, but that is me from a rather cold UK temperate.
Battery drain is always at its worst when a new software update arrives, the system needs time to re-optimise. But I still get around 6 or 7 hours of Screen on Time.

The negative experiences shall always be louder than those of the positive, because it is more apparent to everyone that if someone has an issue, it needs to be highlighted and discussed. Hence why it may seem that everyone is having issues, due to those voices being the loudest.

          As Louis has pointed out:

Louis ☕️ Nothing is only just over 3.5 years old so expectations should be considered there.

The best thing we consumers can do, is give the team proper feedback. Then issues get raised and addressed.
As always, for those with Nothing Phones, this can be done in settings, via the following path: Settings > System > Feedback.

Ealesy101 us Indian always complains about heating bcoz we live in very hot environment average 30+ degree in summer it goes as high as 45 degrees. most SOC are optimised for western climates 20-25 degree not for Indian sub-continent.

Even I have been happy with the Phone(2), yes some bugs are present but many of them are getting solved so I feel pretty confident.

Yes I know many features are missing but as said:

Louis ☕️ most companies (in this industry) have over 10+ years of experience, R&D and extensive numbers of staff members. Nothing is only just over 3.5 years old so expectations should be considered there.

But I think Nothing is actually doing great!

It’d be great if the camera could improve. Just, just be something better than a budget or a midrange phone, because the experience so far with the camera has been mediocre. Really.

Everything else is great. Also, 2.5.5 update wrecked wifi/signal connection.

Ealesy101 Yeah! I know it’s a new company definitely and they have done a really great job at their first phone the phone 1 the reason i bought phone 2 i am just saying that they optimised the phone 1 so well it was really a great job no company did that ever rarely any phone’s performance camera efficiency stability all became good after the update. And yeah i know the temperature around is more but i use in it normal room temperature and their it got like 37-40 just browsing YouTube and Twitter it’s happening with me from the last 2.5.3 update so i did point it out here and battery too was great before so was just feeling sad about it. Camera’s tbf doesn’t matter to me too as i capture in raw everytime and edit it as i like. But the other issues is a concern to me and to others . And yeah it’s right concerns get highlighted and it should be but a lot of users are facing it so i request them to take 1 month but make the phone more efficient, stable , and take all the advantage of the 8+gen 1 as what they did with the phone 1 was phenomenal. The expectation’s are raised as the brand nailed it with their first phone so expecting they improve their phone 2 as well and make it a goat(😁) .

And yeah i created this discussion as i saw that they are launching one more phone here and there are too many phones and phone 1 users are too facing issues so i just wanted to say make the present one the best they can do it with the updates and then release the new products. Thankyou for your reply.

Even Nokia 3310 had an option to adjust vibration intensity, that hasn’t implemented in np2.

            5 months later

I have never seen this type of bad phone in my life, heat issue lags and all such a bad phone selecting this phone is a reget for me

            6 months later

            CMF phone 1.
I miss the headphone jack and doesnot support FM which even basic touchpad phones support. Even compact highend phones like asus zenfone have a headphone jack, so we cannot blame it on design requirement choices. It will be a great practical use, as many in budget segment will still want to use earphones like myself. Earphones last longer and I like qulaity of sound in my earphones, but I feel disappointed that I cannot use them in cmf phones. Other one is radio . We cannot hear fm in the phone . In many phones, fm works when earphones are connected. Also there is no f/ radio app in phone. I hope the next versions doesnot repeat these mistakes.
Besides the phone edges are hard and its difficult to hold in one hand for long time. I understand big screen maybe required to attrct crowds, but if you can make corners round and somehow make it easy to hold , it will be a style statement which will be known as user friendly device
