The main thing that would concern me is the overheating and lagging. The other issues may just be a limitation of this mid tier phone.

There may be features that you need that you only will find on another device.

In the UK Amazon have a 30 Day returns policy but I see where you are that’s not possible right?

I’d reach out to Nothing support and ask for suggestions. There may be a need to factory reset, so ensure you back up. The phone may need to bed in via a few charging cycles as well.

This is not strictly a gaming phone and actually for gaming doesn’t do as well as the 2a, so if you are heavy gaming you may need to look elsewhere.

Also, check what warranty policy you have where you are and if after trying to resolve the issue consider a return if you can do that were you are.

Regardless, I hope you get what you need and I totally have experienced disappointment in the past with phones but as I said in the first instance reach out to Nothing support you may have a problematic phone.

    Many thanks

    Jay

      • Smart view is just a name given by Samsung to Screen Cast (or simply Cast). It is available in Nothing OS. As for the remote feature of Smart view, you can use the remote function of Google TV app which comes pre-installed on the phone.
      • You can delete call history via Phone > Recent > Click on the number whose history you want to delete > History and then simply swipe left/right on whichever one you want to delete. As for deleting multiple contacts at once, you can do so via the Contacts app.
      • There’s no need for having Nothing’s own call or files app. The Google ones does the job. But if you hate the Google ones, then you can install your preferred ones and set them as Default apps and disable the ones you don’t want.
      • If you mean the Nothing Gallery app in which you want to hide your albums then, you can’t exactly hide your full album, but you can make it so that photos from selected albums won’t appear on the main page via Gallery > Settings > Show in photos view and deselect the ones that you want to hide from the main screen.

Hope that clears up some of the problems you’re having.

I’m so glad that I bought this phone instead of a Xiaomi. I’ve been using it for 3 days now, and I’m all over and beyond it.
      I have some questions tho.

I use the double tap to wake and lock function. The wake up is working as intended, BUT the lock fuction has a flaw, when the device is unlocked and I’m sitting on the home page double tapping lock it (great that’s how this should work.), BUT when I’m on the lock screen and I double tap there, NOTHING (haha funny) happens. I just wanted a peek at the time or what notifications I have, I want to put my phone in sleep with this feature so I don’t have to reach for the power button, because this is the whole porpuse of this feature.

The flip to glyph has been brought to my attention, and I’m using it, but I was wondering if I turn it off, will the lights still indicate that I have a notification and buzz or just a buzz and the sound?

I also brought over my photos from my old phone, fuuny enough the nothing gallery sorted it correctly, but every other application (Telegram, Messenger) sorted it in reserve (starting with the oldest).

Using this phone has been a blessing. The charge limit feature is on and kept at 80%, I jsut charge when I need to, no charging over night (I know that’s a feature too). The camera bump is good. The only thing bothering me is that the volume buttons are on the other side, so I can’t use my phone holder with a controller.

Last but not least! PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE let us change the essentials button to something else. I never use notes, or rarely in case of a checklist, so it’s really annoying when you reach for the power button and this essential space comes up.

bjgo78 Hey, welcome to the Nothing family 🙂

Yes, the glyph lights will still turn on when flip to glyph is turned off.

With your other points, you can submit feedback and suggestions using your phone’s feedback tool in settings -> system -> feedback.

Daniel changed the title to Nothing Phone (3a) Initial thoughts .

bjgo78 Hey mate. Welcome to the Nothing family… you chose a great device in the (3a). I hope overtime you get to enjoy it even more! And, welcome to the community too 🙂

            Daniel

Thank you for your answers. I will definitely leave a feedback. 😊

I am facing an issue , currently when i am switching off my phone some white lines were appearing momentarily and vanishing for like a milliseconds or seconds ,but when I turned the animations off from accessibility, it never appeared…

I was hesitant to choose between the base and the pro. At the and it came down to the daily use of the camera, which is not that often. Besides I have a DSLR when I nned to take professional photos. Still this camera is good for trips when you have limited space (like when travelling with plane)

              Hi folks,

I switch over from an iPhone to my first Android Phone the Nothing 3a. I have this phone for few days now and I’m very impressed with it so far…

However I’ve noticed that the essential space button needs an on/off switch setting. Why you may ask, because it permanently triggers the recording in the cell phone holder in the car. If it is mounted underneath, it loses its stability.

What I’m currently missing from my iPhone is the Tap to Top function in every window. If your on a website for example you could go directly to the top without instead of endless scrolling - huge timesaver.

              Regards

                Sameer_zFsOTEV4Aw

I’ve seen that too, but I think there’s no harm to it. Probably a bug.

                keram_hh

That’s a hard choice to make switching from iPhone to an Android. I agree on the button, same issue here.

For the Tap to Top, it’s a browser choice, some supports it, some not, this is the same with apps, messenger and telegram has this feature.

It wasn’t as huge as I was expecting it before. I started fresh with just migrating contacts and calendar , everything else I’ve used on my iPhone was already cross platform like navigation, password manager, podcasts, to-do app etc.

Currently I’m only missing the excellent Apple Notes app - wish Nothing would make one.

It’s my experiment after several years with iOS.

Merged 6 posts from Nothing 3a lag points after two days use.

I love my 3a. Had it for 2 days now. Already hate this damn Essential Key.

Please let me disable or remap it. Essential Space is not useful.

The Essential Key triggers constantly by accident and also I constantly mistake it for the power button.
