They killed the iconic glyph LIGHTS and thinks that in terms of design, being different is always cool/beautiful. It started with the 3a Pro and now the Phone 3. Also the launch event for a flagship phone felt too boring for a much anticipated event that people had been waiting for years - it didn’t have that spark & boom effect.
They could’ve stuck with the glyph LIGHTS and made more improvements on it rather than moving away & switching to something that feels more like a gimmick than an essential tool. Do we need a button at the back to spin the bottle and play rock, paper, scissors? It looks like a toy / device for kids. The LIGHTS had its own language and codes that only you will understand because you know what those lights mean. We do not need the matrix to replace all of that.
They should stick with how they’ve been known as a brand - they got overconfident & played around too much with the design that it looks horrendous - since 3a Pro they no longer have that fresh, minimalistic, clean design. The phone 3 looks like a 3 year old designed it & they all went ahead and approved it. The phone 1 and 2 were so clean and fresh. The 2a was interesting and the 3a looked futuristic - but they should STOP OVERDOING IT. Being fun and different isn’t always cool. They should stick to their roots.
Also the phone is overpriced for its midrange specs. It’s NOT a true flagship.
