Well, Melissa Cameron @Carl and the entire Nothing team must be planning a lot for the launch, but let’s discuss what are the expectations of the Nothing community. @scarbo what are your expectations from the event?

I expect great things… terrible, yes, but great!

But joking apart, I think it’s going to be a community-focused event, they started with a sense of cummunity from the beginning afterall (crowdcube, this forum, etc.).

They will unveil a totally unseen product, so I expect a huge hype from the public, fueled by many reviewers who will fight to publish their review asap. I hope this is going to be an iconic product, if so then Nothing’s goal will be popular and everyone will wonder what comes next.

scarbo I also sense something new. This is getting exciting day by day. I guess, it is worth waiting for the exact details. 😁

arpan2308 The chances are there for this, but I don’t think they will limit the sales as they are all set to enter the Indian market which has a high number of potential buyers. So, maybe we can expect delays in production but definitely not a hault.

It’s a shame that the world is in the state it’s in. I think the launch event for Ear 1 will be pretty straightforward. But I can’t wait for future ones. Imagine being in the crowd for a Nothing launch event in a post-COVID world!!

FallOfTroy It is true that in-person launch events will provide a much better experience, but the thing is in-person events comes with geographical limitations. So, it is 50-50 between both events.

my expectation: the ‘event’ should all be about the experience, the vision… That’s what in my opinion makes nothing unique. Ear1 is merely the start of the journey - one little cog in the whole machine that you’re building

Honestly, I’m expecting something pretty straightforward but also a lot of talk about the vision and future of Nothing. There’s only so much you can saw about earbuds so I’m assuming at least half will be about the company itself. Definitely a launch focused event though. They are launching a product after all lol.

Launch events have always had that WOW factor (remember when OnePlus debuted on the NADSAQ Jumbotron in Times Square? The air was always electric, buzzing with great community spirit, being able to demo all the new products, great giveaways and maybe even hanging out with Carl and his team afterwards), and I’m hoping that Nothing’s first launch will be the same, even if it’s virtual.
