sajindask it is and it’s such a shame because it’s beautiful hardware, and I really loved everything else about it. But its most important function falls short.

I recently bought the Nothing Headphone (1) and everything works great 👌

The only real problem is that I can’t update the firmware to version 1.0.1.74…

I get a message saying: “Firmware update failed”

Does anyone know the solution? Thanks 😁

The .1.74 released like, a month ago, and they were previously releasing an update per week, half-week.

I really hope the bass problem really gets fixed. I’ve been missing the good bass level even if it crackled sometimes like when I opened the box and tried it.

I still have hope in it.

Really reminds me to some phrase of my country: “We were better when we were worse”.

Excel Well they better cook something incredible if it takes so much time. On the other hand, Im afraid the whole attention just went to their new buds… Maybe fix existing products first and than launch new ones

Firmware (bot) Hi, I just wanted to make sure it’s on your radar. The bass enhancement feature doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried changing to different levels on my custom EQ but nothing changes.

Also, on the topic EQ’s, why is it that the default tune is about 20% louder than custom EQ tunes?

Is the another firmware update planned?

Nothing team saying that The Headphone (1) Has no warranty. Is that get same as situation for all of them?

But their website and package has notify it has warranty? So is they are cheating?

I did a full reset on my Headphone (1) today to see if the bass enhancement would work again but no, no change. Still doesn’t work.

Really hoping we see another FW update quickly for these. The original FW sounded so great, wish I could get this back onto these!

SleepingAtSea I myself tried the reset, also without help sadly. I did get a response from support just now that sounds somewhat comforting. It’s the following:

"Thank you for reaching out and sharing your honest feedback about the current situation with the Nothing Headphone (1). We completely understand how important the bass enhancement feature is to you and the community, and we hear you loud and clear. Rest assured, we are dedicated to providing you with the support you need.

Please know that your concerns are taken very seriously. We have shared your feedback with our relevant teams to ensure it is fully understood and prioritized. While we don’t have an exact timeline to share right now for the next update, please rest assured that work is actively ongoing to improve the experience and address the bass enhancement issue."

Even though they couldn’t say an exact time for when the update comes regarding the bass enhancement, they do seem to acknowledge the issue and working on it. All we can do is hope it’ll actually fix the issues we’re having.

With this firmware headphones sound really bad. Almost no bass in ANC or transparency modes, a bit better when turning ANC off but still not like it was on previous firmware with ANC on.

I reported the issue few times in the app, on their website, got only one reply like we are sorry, sent the info to our team. but come on, for about a month the headphones are UNUSABLE. I can’t listen to this thin sound like from $20 headphones. My$ 20 earbuds KZ Krila actually sound better!

I’ve tried everything already- tweaked equaliser, downloaded presets, tried to use bass boost faature (it doesn’t work at all on this firmware), even just did factory reset- nothing helps.

I regret getting these headphones already. Tho I really like the design and ergonomics but i just CAN’T USE THEM with this sound quality!

The experience is just bad.

I’m really fed up with this nonsense. How could they ship a firmware that basically disables core features advertised on their product page (bass enhance) !

When wired (usb-c or jack) transparency and NC mode are basically unusable; almost no signal below 100 Hz.

And this has been going on for over a month. Way past the return period. July firmware was basically perfect, creators made custom EQ for this version, and praised it for this version.

No doubt in my mind that if any pro were to review it today, they would put it in the trash tier and recommend we buy anything else on the market at this price point.

This was my first Nothing product, and I’ve never felt this scammed.

I’m reselling it, and pity the poor soul that gets it next.

Since Nothing doing nothing I just wrote to KEF support, describing this situation. Since their name also on the headphones (Sound by KEF) and at this point this sound is bad.

I think everyone on this thread who not satisfied with this firmware should do the same. If many people write to them they for sure will do something to protect their reputation. Either fixing the firmware or not collaboration with Nothing ever again.
